Need Guidance for Second Monotub Grow - First Grow Details Included

Hey guys!
I have 8 qt jars 3/4 full nearly fully spawned with GT spores. They are looking nice and white. They were injected in my SAB on July 20th. I am planning on doing a G2G transfer with two of the jars so i will have 6 qts of spawn for this tub.
My last grow didn't go so well. I posted in more detail happened here as well as additional photos and a procedure for my spawn jars:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26843332
Quick summary if you don't want to check the link:
- followed BODs unmodified tub and his oat procedure carefully
- my substrate was really slow to colonize, some forum members thought it might have been contaminated.
- I may have not brought the coir up to field capacity, a really hard prolonged squeeze released a drop or two of water.
- it was consistently around 82-84 f in the room.
- I didn't mist the tub at all because the tek reads that i shouldn't have to (if i wasn't a noob)
- The sub looked noticeably dryer in the 2nd day of fruiting conditions
- As the substrate shrunk from the sides, Moisture was always on the tub walls at substrate height and I noticed I was getting some side pins
- I decided to try to grow them because i figured my tub was a lost cause anyway. Mis well get some experience out of it. I cut them off like bread crust and put them into separate tub
- I fruited 30g dry B+ from the side pins
- I dunked the remaining substrate, and put it into colonizing conditions for a 5 days, put back into fruiting and it is started to get a few pins! I STARTED THIS TUB ON JULY 18!!
- There are no weird colors in the tub currently, nor does it smell any different from when I started.
- The climate im growing in has been hot and dry.
What conclusions can i make from the fact that i was able to fruit the side pins (where there was this kind of micro climate) but didnt get good colonization of the substrate?
Does it mean that my sub wasn't contaminated and I was having a hydration issue?
Am I right to deduce that i need to keep the RH higher this time around right from the get go (more misting/fanning)?
I am planning on covering exposed grains with some coir to keep it from the surface, should i try a casing layer this time around?
My ratio was 800g of coir (pasteurized for 10 hours in a cooler with 3.2L of water) to 6qts of spawn, should i try to decrease the amount of coir to say 600g/6qts of spawn?
On my 2nd crack at it, i'm going to increase the water content of the coir and i am considering leaving the tub with the lid closed in the dark for a few days, but that goes against BODs recommendations
Any other suggestions are highly appreciated. If you have a some resources that you suggest i would definitely give them a study. Open to trying an different TEK
Day 6 - when i posted my first thread and was told the tub was shot

Day 10 - Project side pins have been in fruiting conditions for 2 days

Day - 12 Harvested side pins and left tub in colonization conditions

Looks like you should try again. If field capacity and ratios seem to be off, focus on that next grow. Bucket tek to unmodified tub, if it was me I'd do 6qts grain spawn to 6qts substrate.

For what It worth.
The way I do It..
I do not pasteurize my coir.
I weigh my coir and I weigh the water going into the coir by using a gram scale. That way It always come out exactly the same each time I make a batch.
What works for me may not be good for others. (It's a preference thing.)
This formula works for any amount of dry coir.
I multiply the weight of dry coir by grams and multiply It by 4.75. The sum of that will be my water weight In grams.
Example: 1000 grams of coir X 4.75 = 4750 grams of water.
That Is my sweet spot. (4.75) Your sweet spot could be 4.50 4.75 5.00 It could depend on your climate the brand of coir or other factors.
I then weigh my vermiculite and add the same amount in water.
428 grams of verm. 428 grams of water, add that to your hydrated coir.
I use cold tap water to my coir mix It all together and make up my tub.
No pasteurizing the coir. I find It to be a big waist of time.
If your spawn is clean you shouldn't have any problems..
I use one quart of spawn to every 700 to 900 grams of hydrated coir/verm.

Thanks for your break down!
I've seen 1:1 spawn to sub ratio. Is that roughly what you are achieving?
I here is my calc.
54qt tub
650g coir x 4.75 = 3087g water or 3.087L
(3087g water + 650g coir)/ 5qt spawn = 747gsub/1qtspawn
Does this look right?
I'm also planning on doing a small layer on the bottom and the top of coir from that calc so it might be closer to 700gsub/1qtspawn.

Yes.. That looks good..
The net weight of spawn per quart jar for me is 300 grams.. I add that to 700 to 900 grams of hydrated coir. So that would be in the 3 to one ratio.
I grow in bags. 700 gr. to 900 gr. substrate and one jar of spawn. each bag goes in a tub for climate control.
Growing in bags let me test many clones easily.
If I get trich I just remove one bag and don't loose the whole tub.
I'm able to keep my sub at a cooler temp by growing in bags. (more air space around each bag)
After pinning I cut the bags down so I add allot of area to the sides so side pinning Is no issue.
Clean up Is fast. just throw the bags away.

I forgot to say, one nice benefit to growing In bags Is harvesting. It's so easy to pull a bag out of the tub and place It on a tabletop and clip away..
