DMT like experience 1

This weekend was an experience like never before. Started the evening out with blue juice split between 3 people, about 30 grams of wet weight which has never been attempted by anyone present. After about 1 hour of not feeling anything moved on to some tea 2.5 grams in the tea. 20 mins later it was like a 3 hour DMT trip, super intense. Is there reasoning behind this? Was not enough time given for blue juice to kick in? Did the blue juice and tea mix in the body and increase potency? At a loss at what was experience...

Did you have a full stomach? Food can delay absorption, that and you kept dosing. Sounds like you just got a pretty standard level 5+ trip to me.

probably high psilocin content in the tea.. as you probably know, psilocin is 4-OH-DMT, which is like an orally active form of DMT...

Ate a pizza with the blue juice that was the first thing eaten all day. I'll say 10/10 would do again. Add Dr Strange in a private theater room also 10/10. I've felt a DMT like trip with shrooms before but it's always been burst visuals that are DMT like but this just didn't stop for hours. This was our first time making blue juice and after an hour we felt like we had made it wrong or something.

Yeah fungi tea at that dose can potentially be similar to a dmt trip. Imho/e.

Blue juice is cold water extract, has to be done with fresh mushrooms. Terrance McKenna discussed it in a few of his talks.

I've never heard Terrence McKenna mention blue juice. It was his brother Dennis who mentions it.

After messing with DMT, every mushroom trip has reminded me of DMT. Mushroom trips became much darker after trying DMT. Other events in life may have contributed to this as well though.

I feel something oddly similar, but I'm trying to reclassify it away from "dark". Very odd though for sure.

Eating a meal right before dosing, or at the same time, will delay the onset. It takes an hour to 90min till the effects start slowly.
Any delayed onset will diminish the effects. With a full stomache it is as if you eat the shrooms slowly over the course of an hour.
It's best to ingest shrooms on an empty stomache. Fastest oneset and strongest effects.

Yeah, "dark" isn't necessarily the right word. I think "dark" comes to mind largely due to the incomprehensible, alien aspect of it. After DMT, mushrooms became simultaneously hyper-mystical and ultra-technological. It feels like I experience a realm existing outside of time, even on fairly low doses.
Before DMT, mushrooms were largely euphoric. But again, other life changes possibly contributed to this change, as much if not more than DMT use. I haven't used DMT in about five years, and I use mushrooms in fairly low doses 1-2 times per year (or less), but this alien eternity is the new normal during mushroom trips. I've also noticed more of an auditory component to mushrooms after DMT (reminiscent of that buzzing energy that many report on DMT).
I strongly agree that reclassifying it away from "dark" could be extremely beneficial in helping to appreciate the experience for the potential insight that it offers.

My experience is that every single thing that's perceptible about brain chemistry became heightened after DMT:
Emotional swings became a bit 'wider' Cannabis became much more psychoactive Caffeine tolerance was reset Exercise 'runners high' more intense
And also, mushrooms have become a more dissociative experience than they were before DMT. Before, the sense that I was dissociating from my body was never there, but now I feel it somewhat on all doses.

I will agree that since I've done DMT that my mushroom experiences have changed but not in a dark way whatsoever. I've became more mindful of the experience mushrooms are trying to give me where as before it was way more fun loving and free.

Interesting stuff. I agree about the dissociative experience. After DMT, I've experienced dissociation on both mushrooms and ALD-52. Before DMT, never experienced dissociation on any psychedelic.

The reason the initial dose wasn't strong is because you only used 30 grams wet between 3 people. That's like 1 gram each. Most people won't fully trip from that, and if you did 2.5 grams solo after that it would explain how you had an experience, if you split it, it was probably a mild experience comparatively to what it could have been, but it's not the size of the dose, it's how you use it
And mushrooms are a form of DMT, so you should expect them to have similarities. It's just an orally available DMT. I always explain the difference as smoking DMT is like a rocketship to the center of space, mushrooms is a boat ride. At higher doses they all intertwine to the same realms in the end, every psychedelic can take you to the same place, because it exists within us
