Really appreciate you guys taking the time to assist me.  Tysm.

One last question.  Since I’m setting up my agar tonight and have another 12 cakes to spawn.  I wanted to know if it’s possible to use pins from my brf jars as a clone for agar.  I figure the culture would be almost contam free and really clean since it’s been in a jar with a verm barrier.  If you guys recommend doing this. What’s the best approach. Do I place the hole mushroom on the agar plate or what.    Here’s a pick of the side pin in my brf jar

Thanks

That sucks.. I used 1 and a half cups wbs to 2/3 cups of water per quart. I’m gonna try 1/2 cup water next batch ... I wanted to save time on preping oats but this is turning into more time now. 👎🏼

For no prep wbs I fill the quart jar to about 350 on the side with the measurements if you have that kind. Then I add about 75% of a half pint of water.

The only downside to no prep is you usually have to do some serious shaking the first couple days.

Yeah it comes out mostly in a big clump that you gotta shake super well to break up, and then like he said to redistribute the moisture.

I’ve used them right away too though after breaking it up but still shook it a couple times with the wedge inside.

All my shoeboxes are in a stuffy closet and I'm having FAE issues,  would it be beneficial to run a tiny tiny fan pointed away from the tubs to circulate the air in the closet?

How bad is the lack of fae? If it is just causing fuzzy feet I wouldn't worry about it. If your fruits are getting leggy then yeah, I'd try the little fan.

Here’s my no prep for WBS.

275g WBS
150g (or ml) water

The standard 1:2 would mean 137.5g water but I had started at 200 and was stepping my way down and 175 was nice and 150 worked so well I stopped there. I think I will try 135g though because some jars seemed a lil too wet after liquid inoculate (though I was using 20+ml per qt)

Here’s when it first gets out the PC

Here’s what the puck should look like at the bottom - stuck n sticky but not too gross -

And here’s a minute later after the shaking is done -

I’m only on my 4th cycle of no prep but even the 200+g h20  first try jars worked and they were all inoculated with LI as well.

Are you just mixing it in a bowl? Seems pretty cool

You axin me that?

If so, no each qt jar gets its own 275g grain and 150 water. The only downside to the no prep is I can’t fit the extra 3 jars on their side on top in a presto23 or else the water touches the filter.

Nice. Ya thanks for sharing. I didn't have much luck with oats and was thinking about getting into WBS anyways. I definitely wanna try it your way
