Flipping bulk substrate between flushes

Hey Shroomers I’ve just finished my first flush on my first monotub grow, I’ve currently got it doing a 3 hour soak.. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on flipping their substrate? I had a hard time dialing in my tub at first which led to me matting the shit out of the surface and really just making it look super unhealthy. So I decided to flip it over and it looks BEAUTIFUL. Now one small thing.. when I was flipping it I managed to put a big crack almost down the middle of it.. is this really bad? Has anyone flipped their bulk and gotten good/better flushes? I removed almost all of the aborts that were left and decided not to try to get every single one as I didn’t want to dig into the sub in some places to get them, will this cause rot/contamination? Thanks for the help.

Edit: the big bright white spot/s is just light reflection.

your pinset is pretty much already there so flipping it is not something i would do.
i mean how was your flush off of it?? is it totally matted and what one would call completely fucked?? i suppose it could be an option if it just wasnt fruiting but like i stated i dont like to do that cuz your second flush is already basicly on its way. id say if it was mine id put it back the way it was and just hope for the best and try better next time to keep proper surface conditions

When I say I really kinda fucked up that side I mean I really fucked it up, how long do you think it will take to form a new pin set on this side of the bulk?

First flush was only 188.6g wet. Fruits were really small and scrawny. It was my first attempt ever at growing any mushrooms. Half my sub turned out matted and wouldn’t fruit, and was yellowing pretty significantly, probably from a combination of a bunch of stuff.. high heat(82-85F), over misting, and super lack of FAE, all of which I think I’ve done a decent job at correcting. It currently stays at 72-76F I haven’t had to mist really at all and it has a pretty decent amount of condensation on the walls like at all times now even without misting 5 times a day like I was, since adjusting the temp and the FAE. And since the FAE fix I started getting significantly larger mushrooms with thicker stems and bigger meatier caps. I just figured flipping would be my best bet to combat the super matted 1/3 of substrate and with the new conditions actually be able to get a good decent flush this time around.

if its that bd then go for it and also consensation on plastic is not a guide to measure humidity by.. just maintain good surface conditions and see what happens and share your results here good luck😃
