What do you think??
JAR 1

It's growing on top heavily, can't figure out even with my eye if there is gray-ness on top there, or it's just shadows hmh
JAR 2

 still not ripe, right?
JAR 3

this one looks okay except for the dead spot? need more time? have two more that more or less loke like this one
JAR 4 (different spore than other ones, inoculated with agar)

You have mushrooms growing in vitro, so yes, they’re fine, and yes, it’s time to do something with them.

i think they are a bit on the wet side, they look a bit bacterial. youll probably get some nice fruits from them anyway

yea, it's last couple of days that there is a bit of condensation...maybe they need a bit more air hm
what do you mean "bacterial"?

i mean that bacterias thrive on grains that are on the wet side bacterial spawn tends to get contaminated earlier and also yield less. ive spawned lots of bacterial jars with decent results tho

None look totally healthy to me but 4 looks the best out of them all. 3 seems like the myc has run into a nastier bacteria that it can’t deal with. How long has that spot been bare and is it slimy looking up close? All the long stringy myc makes me think it’s looking for a cleaner place to be but like El said you can still work with bacterial spawn.
I’d probably spawn these to a shoe box each if they were mine, and see what they do.

I won't be quick to say they're bacterial, but the oats look overly wet and the mycelium aint liking that much and is having trouble colinizing the grain normally. They want out so badly and I personally love how aggressively it's reacting.
IMO jar 3 is crying for a shake and will reach full colonization faster this way than if you were to let the jar alone. And this is just me, but while you're at it I'd also give the rest of the jars a shake to redistribute that excess moisture while you wait for jar three to finish.

yeah, my thoughts also, to separate them in few mini tubs hm...

shake and leave it until it colonizes fully? at this point mycelium is not that sensitive, right?

You won't damage anything at all by shaking, the rule of "shake once at 30%" is def not written in stone. You can shake a jar as many times as you feel fit. When to shake is a bit of an acquired feel that you develop over time. Sometimes you'll only need to shake just once and sometimes more.

I don't know exactly hmh... it does not look slimy... it does look maybe a bit less like a spot on the eye, more on the camera hm... one side of the jar is simply more colonized...
they are not in overly lit or spacey place... do they maybe need more light and air?

Btw, I feel oats aren't noob friendly at all, despite the fact they can take a serious boil and are so easy to prep. And this is because of how thoroughly they need to be dried before PC'ing if you don't want to end up with moisture issues and the problems it can cause.
I'd avoid them unless you're willing to dry them well for several hours with the help of one or two fans and a big strainer so you can spread them thin.

Wheat is def more forgiving in this respect, for instance. Or any other grain actually.

as I gave a good shake to no.3 , lots of uncolonized grains showed up suddenly, probably from the middle? doesn't look that white now:) that's ok?

YES, YES... we figured it out... they looked too wet and then we dried it around the house on baking paper etc for hours... and was like "next time will make some net for drying or something"... there was no condensation at the beginning at all hm... also I think in the future I'll try to find some better oats, these are not top quality organic production oats I think..

Yes, it's ok. The grains always lose the whiteness when you shake em. Seeing that as a beginner is a bitter pill to swallow I know, we've been there
It'll get all white again in no time dont worry, unless the jars are very bacterial, in which case they may not recover. But you don't wanna spawn something that doesn't recover anyway, cuz you're gonna see mold if you do.

Even a fully colonized jar starts to look barely colonized once you shake it, until it starts to recover anyway. No probs there
WBS is my favorite grain so far. I prep two different ways depending on my time constraints. I use Fooman’s method which gets your WBS from the bag and in the PC within an hour or so - https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/8508523
Or I do No Prep where I just take 275g WBS straight from the bag into my jars (grab any sticks or things I see but that’s all) and put 150ml water in the jars and then PC. I may even try 135ml water since I use liquid inoculates mostly.
Here’s a no prep straight from the PC - looks a lil shitty and gross, especially at the bottom
Same jar 2 minutes later after shaking it up and breaking up the unavoidable puck at the bottom that is the cost of zero preparation
I’ve been rocking these ways for a while now, I’ll never soak or dry grain for cubes again.

imagine doing this in the 80s, 90s? before internet? Must find someone to explain it to you, like a sacred knowledge. Or find some book and then trial and error for months? Oh, I love being beginner in 2020

What kind of WBS do you use? What to look for? I am looking what is available here where I live, for example, some foreign manufacturer, not cheap:
says it have 1% of dried insects:D

I use Pennington classic wild bird food.
If you’re not in the US I don’t know what kinds you can get but that type there is not what you want. The good stuff will be a mix of whole grains.

Hm, now look at this... Jar before shaking... Looks like a small pin there?

Now, after giving it a good shake...

That "pin" revealed something green-ish, gray-ish in itself, around itself?
As I shook the jars a bit of mushroom smell spread, thru polyfill probably...nice fresh smell, but who knows until opened fully hm...

I don’t like that pin being in there. I’d be worried it would rot and cause a contamination somehow but I’m not 100% sure if having a pin in your spawn will be bad or not. I would assume that since the myc started fruiting in the jar already wouldn’t it be tougher for it to recolonize the spawn after a shake?
From my understanding, once it starts fruiting, it’s tougher for it to go back to colonizing because that’s even more energy spent. I could be wrong though 🤷♂️.

That pin will revert back to myc now, it isn't gonna rot or anything.

Ah, I think I get it now, thank you Sir... you wanted to say, shake it good, see what will recover, and what will reveal some dark secret, healthy mycelium will recover nicely...
Look now: 1 (different numbering than first post sorry)

this one looks healthy to me
2

I like this one also except for that dead spot
3

this one might be okay? that recovery myc have interesting look?
now for suspicious ones 4

this one had that big pin last time, you can see it in pic1, worried about gray stuff (pic4), mold?
5

this one is obviously gone to the dark side too bad, looked like one of the most promising ones, looked white and nice from the start, growed nicely heh

Yea a last recovery shake can be great when in doubt and can reveal those dark secrets as you said. If there's hidden mold chances are you'll see it after the shake and if you weren't entirely sure there was bacteria now it will make itself more apparent.
They all look bacterial to me tbh, some worse than others. But you might still get some fruits if you spawn the healthier looking ones in separate shoeboxes.
Jar 2 looks toast and that dead patch is already taken by bacteria and doesn't look like myc will be able to colonize it. Jar 5 got the green obviously. And in jar 4 I don't see green, just blueing myc, but can't see well right now so I'm not sure.

That jar 2 colonized the dead spot after few days! The thing is, when I opened the jars to mix them to substrate, hm, I didn't actually liked that smell... it's not screamin' bad, it was a bit like... wood? All jars had the same smell. It was not mold... Also there was no sign of contamination anywhere... So I mixed them in few boxes anyway... What do you suggest how to proceed further, what to pay attention to? Seemed like you said there is still some chance for me if they are bacterial? and yea, thanks for help mate:)
