Got a gasket in there as well. But hell I’ve also run em unmodded lol, poured em like G2G. But for now I’ll mess with the syringes.
I know absolutely nothing about valves, tools, etc. so please forgive how stupid this question is. What are you using for gas exchange?
That looks like some type of one way valve to help air escape or something? Like I know you've already told me that you hate polyfil and I cant blame you. But micropore has been my solution to it, and I dont really enjoy that either. If I could do something similar to that then I would be golden as I use lots of the twist and seals for jars and agar. Thanks man

I think the filter on the right is ge and then the ship(self healing injection port) is on the left, you can see the holes from where he stuck the needle in to suck up the lc.

Yeah, but what's the filter called? Or the valve? I know people that homebrew beer or mead or whatever use special valves but I think that's only to let air out and they look way different lol.

It’s just a syringe filter I believe.

I’ve got no idea when the end is gonna be with this one but this RW LC is doing it’s thing nicely. Both the cakes and the WBS are recovering well. Just knocked up 8 quarts with some more RW and 4 quarts with PEU LC.

I don’t understand the question.
You are taking LC through filter? How do you "install" syringe on that?

I’m not taking anything through the filter. I’m injecting the syringe needle though a Self Healing Injection Port (SHIP) but that’s not a filter.

I love those tiny little ptfe whatmans
In that pic it looks like you have the leurlock on the lid side down, and the tapered end upwards
Howd you do that?
I usually do the tapered side down

The filter is only for gas exchange if I am not mistaken.
Been a long time since I did LC's. I used to find them really handy, but everyone hated on them back then...

Im just trying to figure out how he installed it leur lock down (maybe his brand is taperes on both sides?)
Yeah its just ge. I love those things
You can also use em for filter sterilizing antibiotics and other heat sensitive media additives (super handy in plant tissue culture)

I have a couple of reverted RW cultures (or they came from a contaminated print)
Cultures are super aggressive and throw out white and dark yellow fruits, and none are rusty
I guess they shook off the rust too haha

I appreciate it
But its all good, i think i have some different prints, its fun to play with in any case. Got one really interesting clone off it, white and insanely blue bruising, looks like dye
Have you ever seen it revert before (especially this many generations in)?

Well I’ve decided only clones 3,4 & 5 will make the cut, 1 and two just didn’t have the same vigor. Tomorrow some more EzLC will be made for em. The wild pans looked pretty weak on the T2 with the exception of the peanut butter plates, that one had some vigorous looking sectors. Made a transfer, hopefully it looks good and then I’ll get some LC going for that.
I’m also stoked about the ganoderma project, I went and retrieved the fruits I jammed the toothpicks into 10 days ago. Some had some funky shit growing on the pic but two looked legit. When I pulled the picks out I saw myc streaks in the grain. They have been played for 24 hours now and so far there is no bacteria or crazy mold growth. That much is encouraging and one of the pics might look like it’s starting to recover. Fingers crossed.
My twisted cake project is going well. Inoculated more cakes including a wicked stress test where I got my girl to inoculate them in open air, using a big lighter to sterilize the needle. Those should be interesting. The saturated cakes are nearly done colonizing as well, they didn’t care about the excess liquid being used. Some more cakes were also inoculated with better adherence to sterile tek and more recommended volumes of inoculate used. Those are starting to recover.

Tomorrow I really need to run more grain. I got LC coming out my ears at this point. First world problems I guess. I always do this to myself.
