First time with Oats
    #26870482 - 08/08/20 06:57 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Made the bags using Easy AF TEK. My first grow I bought 5 grain bags online and the mycelium started on the bottom and was thicker. Is this mold or the mycelium looks and grows different on oats? It’s day 6 since injecting.

What did you inject it with? Spores?

It looks like mold but hang on to it for a couple more days and observe. Could be mycelium.

Yes spores (I know, use agar).

Yikes! Its is repeated so many times not to do this (i am not hacking on you bro). It is for a reason. It is almost always a failure. (PF TEK if you are still set on using straight spores)

Did you inject near the bottom and this is showing on the top? It looks suspiciously like cob web. Moisture looks a little high as well. Did you do this in a SAB and use general sterile tek (flame needle, clean hands/gloves, sanitize bag with iso, etc)?

Wait it out for 3-4 more days and see as you have nothing to lose at this point.

Good luck with it tho!

It’s not almost always a failure, but it is definitely more risky. My little brother has been using spores for years. I’ve got five perfectly healthy tubs growing right now from spores.

I wish people would quit crying cobweb. Let it ride for a few days and re-evaluate. Too early to tell right now.

Just letting the OP know to look out for it. I am not saying it is 100% cobweb, just suspicious looking. I also recommended waiting it out for a few more days as well. Just trying to help and not being an alarmist
