Growing Black Pearl King Oyster- anyone have experience with them?

(First time growing for me and I've read so many threads but I can't find any on this strain.)
I have a fully colonized bag of grain spawn that I want to mix into a bulk substrate of woodchips and sawdust. I'm stuck between either;
1. pasteurizing the bulk sub (woodchip/sawdust) in pc then mixing the spawn in a monotub to block up again and fruit. OR
2. supplementing sawdust/woodchip with wheat bran and sterilizing in bags, then trying to transfer grain spawn into sterilized sawdust bag. I'm worried about doing this because i'd be opening the sterilized bag without a flowhood, although i do have a SAB. Is supplementing important enough to risk it?
Anyone have experience with this type? Recommendations?
My goal is grow healthy strong mushrooms that I can make lc or agar from and continue the cycle. Should i just let them fruit in the bag and go from there?

King oysters are probably THE mushroom that benefits most from supplementation. High rates (like 40%) are common, if you want to get good yields.
But as you already know, sterile technique is key here. Whether to risk it is up to you, and how confident you are in your sterile technique. You can imagine what a pain in the ass it is spawning a bag inside a SAB though...
If there's any species worth risking it on, it's probably kings. Your call though.
*If you want to continue the culture, just take a grain of spawn straight to agar. No reason to grow the mushroom and clone to agar, if that's what you meant near the end.

yeah that's what I feared haha makes me nervous but I'm going to give it a go.
thanks for the clarification on supplementing.
I have a large SAB but I probably will only try the transfer into 3 maybe 4 sub bags. I'm going to do more research about it bcus it just sounds scary haha need to start buying parts to build a flowhood..
yes wow duh I didn't even think of that haha. way easier. thanks for the response good sir. much appreciated!

If you have a whole bag of spawn, maybe try both methods and see which you like better?
That way if your SAB work fails, you still might succeed on the unsupplemented grow.

Dont waste your time with wood chips. Just use the masters mix.
