Question 2: Yes it does bruise a little in the fridge, but not much... Maybe if your fridge has higher temperature swings it would bruise more.
Sorry that you have to look through a sandwich bag, I didn't take that many glamour shots of fridge agar:

I'm not an expert but LC is a high reward, very high risk, proposition. Everyone's tried it but a lot of people don't use it anymore.

It seems like you have your answer right there. I always make 2 transfers away from my storage plate or slant. I don't like keeping my storage culture out long enough to start growing again so I take the first transfer and return to the fridge. After about 2-3 days I'll start getting growth, there is a bit of a lag on this first dish because it needs to "wake up" as you said. After it grows out to about the size of a quarter to make sure everything is looking good and symmetrical/clean, I make a second transfer and that second dish will be my production stock.

Where did you hear that?

Well that's the dumbest thing I've seen posted here all month.
100% unequivocally false.

This how I do LC. If you want thick vigorous LC this is my preferred method to achieve it.

I’m suspecting a language barrier at play here.

I hope so
I hate when people make up misinformation based on their experiences doing things wrong or poorly then they end up circulating as a "fact"

Not sure how you could misinterpret that due to a language barrier. The implication seems to be that sterile oats develop bacteria before an agar wedge can colonize a jar. Not the case for me

It’s weird the cold myc doesn’t work, seems like it would be the same just a couple days slower.
Unless it can drown somehow before reactivating.

The problem is likely that the OP has poor technique or a dirty culture. It takes a bit for the mycelium to recover so if you have inadvertently contaminated the broth then the bacteria will take over before the mycelium has a chance to leap off, this would account for the lack of growth.
It's good practice to at least let the culture recover before using, even better to ensure that it's actually clean. I transfer twice just for redundancy measures, if you have a clean culture you can use it as soon as it recovers.
I've heard of gourmet farmers who won't use anything but fresh cultures because they claim a loss in vigor, the guy from earth angel makes this specific claim, I'm not sure how true that statement is but hey, who am I.

Vylie said: By the way, if the bacteria develops always at the bottom of the jar while the top of it gets colonized, then it obviously does not come from my agar. It comes from the oat.
PC is PC. It’s not rocket science. If one did it a few times, it’s difficult to make it wrong.
So how do you explain the hundreds of cultivators using oats with no issues?
If you regularly get bacterial contamination at the bottom of your jars, I'd bet your grains are too wet.
