I didnt see u post anthing about that but yes its also chemical resistant what my buddy suggests is having 2 and storing them in a jar of bleach then swapping them every few transfers to keep them as sterile as possible and since these r longer than any other scalpel you can buy not only do they stay cooler when using a bacticinerator but they lower the chance of contamination to plates because your hands r farther away from anything sterile trust me these r the best scalpels money can buy so far I havent seen better ones

Why come we don't see a lot of outdoor grows happening here? It seems like most of the grow logs I find are from years ago. I started one a week ago, checked on the mycelium today and its spreading like cray cray. Its about a 18 inch by 24 inch patch dug up and filled back in with manure compost and straw. Layered with grain spawn.

Soft agar.

Maybe even rehydrate them in some sterile water if soft agar isnt enough

I poured my agar petris around 130*F, was that too warm ? I’m seeing a lot of condensation on the lids

If you can get it closer to 120 F, that'd be better. But 130 F is fine. Most of the time, I find that the majority of my condensation is gone from my plates by the time I need to really start examining them for contams. If not, just put a cup with hot water on top.

Do flow cabinets provide any advantages over hoods besides slightly better protection from turbulence?

Are you talking about the difference in a vertical vs horizontal flow hood? Or taking a horizontal flow hood and putting sides/walls around it to contain the flow?

These are 8 year old spores, a rare strain, it’s a small print as well so attempts are limited.

I plastidipped my xacto handles. It held up pretty good. I think I posted it here in this thread but may have to go back some ways to find it.

As far as having those long ass handles it wouldn't do me any good no control from that far away so I grab my handles closer to the blade. Maybe halfway down. Your hands should never pass over open work anyways. Thats basic sterile Tek.
