After picking recase right?

Just wondering what your supposed to do for a casing after you pick the first flush. I think you just recase it 1/2 inch or so (for average casing) right?

I recase only enough to cover exposed mycellium

Damn afof put a thin layer over the entire thing, I hope nothing bad comes of it, or should he wash it off?
