Did I wait too long to inoculate?

I sterilized some BRF jars in a pressure cooker about 6 days ago but didn't have time to inoculate them. Do I need to start over or can I just re-sterilize the BRF that is already in the jars?

Did you keep foil over the lids?

Yes. Foil has remained on. Transpore tape over holes too.

You have the foil, the tape, and the vermiculite layer still there after a PC cycle, so I would think they're still good to use.
If the contents are truly sterile, then they should last indefinitely or at least until they dry out.
I mean it's not good practice though.

Yeah, it is nagging at me that it would be really easy to make a new batch. Still, I have some excess spores so maybe it is worth experimenting.

They've been in the PC the whole time?

No. I took them out of the PC and put them in a closet.

If they're not your last spores I would go for it. 6 days is not that long, considering it takes a month or so to fully colonize.

6 days is fine, the jars take a month or sometimes more to be ready so an extra couple days won’t hurt.
If they had been sitting with just the dry vermiculite layer for protection then maybe when you inoculated you’d shake some mold spores loose that the verm had caught but I think you aiight.

They're probably fine. Spores are cheap/free and materials are cheap too. worst case scenario you grow some nasty contams. If nothing has grossed them out yet its not likely they are bad.

I’ve waited roughly 10+ days before inoculating. Worked fine.

Yeah, if it's prepped properly the jar will sit and grow nothing for months.
