I went for a walk today, there are so many mushrooms growing everywhere but I havent spotetd any Liberty Caps. Are there any other active species about? I've been seeing alot of mushrooms that look similar to Pan Sub.
Anyoen know where I can get a good guide to the non actice species I might find while out looking for shrooms?

We've just had a heatwave here so all the mushrooms are gone. I doubt they were subs, Im not very experinced with mushrooms. I was just comparing the gradient of the cap, im not aware of exactly how rare or common it is to find mushrooms with the rings of colour. The caps were mainly convex, about three inches across with a raised, rounded nipple, gills were dark. Growing in a pasture which has been grazed by cows and sheep. Stem was moist brown and hollow. Prints were black I think but a couple came up rusty brown dont really remember.

in southern England, I have found sporadic flushes of liberty caps in June, July and August but never anything substantial until the autumn certainly nothing in this current heatwave. I have stopped picking UK liberties in recent years due to huge flushes of Psilocybe cyanescens, actually too much material to process, much easier to pick too, as they grow in vast dense clusters of 1000s at a time on woodchips, and only 4-5 fresh shrooms required for a good trip as opposed to 50+ liberties

Last two years I didn't find any at all, atleast nowhere within 100m of somewhere to park my car, in North Wales.
Hoping this year is the right year, I have all the drying gear ready to go.
Been taking reishi (critical extraction drops) for a few weeks with good results, hopefully be able to add MD LC's to the mix...
