Update on First Growth

I think I left my babies in the jar for too long, and they've gotten contaminated: a bluish-green coloring has appeared. The room has been over 80 degrees due to these hot summer days here. I was waiting for the mycelium to completely cover the jar, but looks like that was the wrong call. Can anyone confirm that this is a goner?
I have another jar that just germinated, and is looking very healthy. I'll be dunking that one by next week.

(early pins) but it Looks healthy to me. Temps sort of high relative to optimum conditions but it’ll do if they aren’t growing any other fungi or bacteria other than what you want. I go for 72-78 if I can help it but have grown in the 80s (more susceptible to contams tho)
The bluish-green bruising is a normal oxidative reaction by some psilocybin mushrooms. That big pin/mushroom in there is probably getting it because it’s bruising from the lack of space and it’s got little room to grow. Unless the condensation around it is throwing me for a loop.
Edit - whoops I I just noticed the substrates not entirely consolidated. How much of it would you say is there left?
I’d let it finish or fruit in the jar, dunking or switching it to a fruiting chamber before its fully colonized makes it more susceptible to contams - but it works sometimes anyways, your call.

OMG thank you, maybe there is hope!
I would say about 15% is left before it's consolidated.

I'd agree it looks like bruising. The fact that you have so many pins so early is a bit worrisome, but I don't see any contaminates or any myc sectoring itself off when competing with foreign growths. Seems to be a large area of unconsolidated sub though. Mine have done this before due to me packing the jar too tightly and some boil over in my PC adding to the packing down of the sub. Do you think it may have been packed down at all? I've had some grow really slow because of lack of free space in between. All of those pinned real early. I waited much longer and let the pins go and they seemed fine. I have also pulled jars out if they are pinning crazy but weren't colonized all the way. If you do that, you absolutely must wash off all the remaining nutrients before dunking. And if you suspect any contaminate, definitely quarantine that one and dunk it by itself and maybe a separate chamber if you have one. But I have had better results waiting to consolidate jars long enough to get SOME pins.

Ah, maybe I did accidentally pack them too tightly. I tried to avoid that because I did read it could cause some problems...
This jar first started colonizing on day 14, and I am now on day 33.
Jar 2 just started colonizing on day 28 or so, and is looking about ready to dunk. No pins are visible. I'm planning to dunk mid-week, next week.
Jar 3 has not colonized at all.
This slow growth is sounding similar to what you're mentioning.

It happens man. First time I packed jars with brf & verm mix I did it way to tightly. I slammed it down after I finished packing to get it extra compact
It took an absurdly long time to finish consolidating/pin/& fruit compared to how long the guide said it would take but eventually they all did and they all had killer flushes and incredibly dense fruits for multiple flushes - PESAmaz’s.
Good luck

Sounds like my over packed jars. Took a month and a week to fully colonize. And seeing germination at 14 days is a bit too long. Probably what happened. Also, I've had mixed results with 2 holes in the jar lid vs. 4. I thought less holes would be less risk of contam, which is true, but I didn't get enough GE during colonization. Better results with 4. Though I did get gnats in my last few jars Just sit tight man, they should be done soon. If it looks like it stalled completely, quarantine them and dunk/fruit them separately after washing away as much uncolonized substrate as you can. They'll probably be fine. Keep a close eye on them anyway. Those pins will be okay during dunk, so don't pick them. They'll be huge when you get them in the chamber.

Thank you for the guidance, gents, just glad to know I'm still on the path to a successful grow. I'll be keeping vigilant!

I'm back, baby (read in Bender's voice). So first pic is obviously the two jars that germinated. Pic 2 and 3 are of the jar I was afraid may have gotten contaminated. I took these pics after washing them. It was a bitch to get it out of the jar which confirms that I definitely packed it too to tight She is now dunked.
The last pic is of jar #2. So, this didn't really match what I saw on EvilMushroom's breakdown, so got nervous and closed the jar back up...as I'm writing this, I'm realizing contaminants probably already got in since I opened it, so I might as well go a head and dunk her, too...
I am on Day 32. How am I looking so far?

I decided to dump the second jar since I opened it already. Above is what it looked like after washing, right before dunking. Fingers crossed.

Going over Ziran and EvilMushroom's guides, and saw that it said to cut the aluminum foil to the exact size, smh. I should've just used the jar cap
Thank you again for helping my forgetful ass!

HOLY SHIT, I was not expecting fruiting this quickly; it's only been about 3 days. I thought I was going to have more time before collecting prints, etc, so I'm scrambling to get my remaining supplies. Procrastination does not fair well with mother nature.
Also, I'm not seeing anything happening with my second cake, it looks like I took it out to soon, but I'll continue to be loving and patient with that one.
I'll be reviewing some reading/gathering remaining supplies for the next couple hours.

So in just a few hours from my last post my babies matured I was not expecting that to happen so quickly. I had to rush to work, so when I got back home the spore already dropped
I harvested them, and they're now in a paper bag in my fridge until the dehydrator gets in. I sampled 1 gram (Mexican Dutch King), and it was a nice mellow experience. The cake is dunked right now, and I'll be setting it back in the chamber tonight (after I boil the perlite).
My second cake didn't make it, and it dried up. I think I took it out of the jar too soon. BUT, with the Cinderella story, Cake #3 just germinated the other day; after 30 days! I was about to just dump that one too.
I also just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped me along the way, and a big thank you the contributors who've created insanely helpful guides. I'm looking forward to this journey .
