Just bought some gold
    #26865308 - 08/05/20 07:05 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

10 gram Valcambi bar @ $2,047/oz.

Will post pics when it arrives.

Rye to mold.

Mold to gold.

We're only 5 months into QE. Gold could run for another 6-18 months.

I'm going to buy more.

Have got extra funds sitting in a checking account, I feel that cusion is plush enough to shake a little stuffing out. No real expenses on my horizon, other than bills, zero debts.

at zero percent interest rates, and negative yielding bonds and negative real returns on bonds (after inflation) gold makes a lot of sense right now.

Why the fuck would you put it in an instrument guaranteed to lose money when gold is only the possibility to lose money.

Because bonds will only lose a little. Gold could lose a lot. But gold will probably be good as long as the economy is this questionable. I just can't be too enthusiastic about buying something when it's already high. That being said, I'm buying Amazon, because besides the one I work at and the three others within driving distance, they're building two others close by.

What amazed me, when I looked it up when I first read OP, was how little platinum is worth now compared to gold. I know nothing about the timing, but at some point that's going to be a good play.

Its like knocking up your spawn bags with colloidal gold. :awegold:

Volcambi bars are a bad buy as they are so far from spot and grams are hard to get rid of.

Go for well known gold coins, close to spot.

Of the common bullion coins, go no smaller than 1/4oz due to markup.

You won't hear me complaining about an inefficient buy given the origins though

Look at that $ go compared to the € last month!

I'd feel reluctant to give a buy signal for gold now, but you're basically picking the krugerrands off the verm so - no objections.

If I lived in a country that didnt charge +21% VAT tax on platinum bullion, I'd be keen on picking up some platinum coins.

At this time Platinum is at less than HALF the price of gold and historically it always had a higher price, is rarer and is a valuable catalyst in industry.

Don't take it as invenstment advice but if I were in your shoes I'd add a platinum maple.

By the way, with that 20gr Valcombi you basically bought just about your fair share of gold:

Another 10g added, even more FOMO seeing some big names entering into gold space.

:ohwow:

Also, picked up another .0081btc @$11,964. ~$100

Testing that psychological $12k barrier.

For the price of 30gr Volcambi you couldd have had a  1 troy ounce bullion coin and money left over.

You like to buy when the price is high, huh? Btc always dips AFAIK.
BTW the people who bought gold with their euros last month before the price peaked; what an investment opportunity.
