yeah it may be one that has to be given as much as 3 times a year but meh, I'll do it anyway, covid19 is a shit disease
If we need a new corona shot every 3-4 months and every subsequent case of corona is worse, we'll need to eradicate this like Smallpox the moment we have a vaccin.
Last I heard it mutates 50% slower than the flu so we would need an updated vaccine 50% as often as the flu shot.

Im pretty sure i got the rona in january with couple family members. We went to a Dave N Busters for a reunion and a couple weeks later i couldnt even get outta bed. I would wake up get some water, then go right the fuck back to sleep. couldnt breathe for shit. lung capacity went out the window.
luckily i had some inhalers on hand and i was hitting that shit like a pipe. I dont have asthma or anything but it helped.
maybe i didnt get rona, who knows. maybe i just sucked a dick wrong

That pretty much describes how I felt when I had it. I didn't so much have breathing trouble, but it was slightly painful. Like the morning after smoking all night in a bar, when you don't smoke. I couldn't stay awake for anything for a week or so.

I wasn't really coughing at all, but I definitely had the body aches. It felt like when you have a bad fever, but I never had a fever.
I ran though all my hot water 3 or 4 times a day just standing in hot showers

Man, I keep forgetting to get a flu shot. I thought maybe I missed a year or two, but I checked my records the other day, and it's been since like 2012.

The 2019 flu virus vaccine was almost ineffective.
June 28, 2019 -- The overall effectiveness of last flu season's vaccine was only 29% because it didn't protect against a flu virus that appeared later in the season, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.Jun 28, 2019

29% effective is not "almost ineffective" when it comes to what we're talking about. And again, it's possible that it could still provide antibodies that are partially effective against future strains.

Flu appears to mutate more quickly and have more strains, so a decent covid vaccine should be easier to pull off

That year had the lowest mortality of the past four years, so it either worked good enough or the flu wasn’t particularly virulent that year.

ebb and flow of illness, 2018 had 80k flu deaths in just 3 months.
No one remembers this though because no one cared and was told to care.

I haven’t seen any reports that would suggest that the sars2 virus has mutated in any way that would affect immunity. The coronaviruses that cause colds are extremely stable over time.

A lot of people have some level immunity to the flu, from previous infections or from innate genetic immunity. Flu viruses have a lot of crossover immunity.

Look at that graph again and tell me that what’s happened in 2020 is at all like what happened in 2018. And remember that 2020 was HIGHLY mitigated by lockdowns and social distancing.
People did care about the flu in 2018. There was a large effort to get people vaccinated. And that’s the big difference: we have a vaccine for the flu. The flu is simply not capable of infecting the entire population like covid

Covid is like a bad flu season with no vaccine. I think I have had one flu shot in my life and have caught the flu probably close to 100 times in my life. I would miss 4-6 months of school almost every year because of just how susceptible to the flu I was as a child.
I would catch every flu there was every year, shit sucked donkey balls.
I would be puking my brains out for a month straight saying I wish i was dead with fevers between 101-106.
Vicks and wash cloths was the treatment lol.
I have no idea why I would catch the flu so much. They say 1% of the population doesn't have the evolutionary immunity against the flu and is borderline defenseless against it genetically and I guess that was what I was. Thankfully my biological flu memory has developed and now I almost never catch it. Maybe once every 3 years now.
I defeated covid like it was nothing.
Just a bad flu season with no vaccine. Is it a significantly worse cold season? Sure, is it destroy the fucking world bad? Nah not at all.
More people will die because of our reaction over time, than from the virus. Sad.
And the stress will make people more vulnerable to illnesses, stress is a mother fucker.

Look at this data from New York City. It’s an absolute joke to compare this to the flu. What flu causes nearly a 8 times normal mortality for a population?

How can anyone look at that graph and not immediately recognize the grave danger that covid presents?
