Did i wait too long, or too high of humidity?

Did i wait too long to pick, or was there too high humidity? Hum was around 85% when i got home today. There was still some sticking to the stem so i let it go last night then sprouted up.

Just looks like they dumped their spores but I’ll let someone more experienced weigh in.

It spored! That tall guy is rocking out...

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I've read that some folks recommend picking just before the veils break, when the caps are just starting to round out a bit. Allegedly these taste better, and the psylocybin content will be the same either way.

If I'm heading to bed and I see some caps looking plump, I'll pick them before the veils break, as to avoid a spored-up mess in the morning.

Mushies do this from time to time. He was just ready before the others. Nothing wrong in my opinion,

It’s fine if they end up like this but it is best to pick just before the veil breaks. 👍

Damn okay. Is there any signs fast I can look for if there is ever a release of spores? What i read was wait for the veil to break. Whelp... I waited too long! There were a bunch of other little guys too.

Getting ready to dry now

Just wait for em to look all about ready but it’s okay if a few pop before the others. If you can pick it without hurting the other pins then go right ahead and do so.

This is really a problem in mono tubs because the flushes are so tightly packed together that if one pops before the others it’s a bit more difficult to just harvest that one.

Check on it more often as your fruits get to this stage... you'll start to get a sense for the shape of the caps when they're about to break their veils. There's no "clue" like you describe, besides learning from experience what you're looking at.

Remember that temperature and humidity affect how quickly they go from bulbous to totally flat, so there isn't a timing rule. You'll pick it up as your grows progress!
