PC'd oat jars have condensation 😬
    #26864511 - 08/05/20 12:27 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Can anyone advise, I have condensation on the inside of my PC'd oat jars. Can I still use these or do I have to redo my oats?

Pics would help!

Did you foil the lids? Did you foil the lids wrong and make oatmeal?
I found this tek to be super helpful.

Too much condensation can be bad but I wouldn’t worry until a few days from now. Lots of condensation is absorbed in the first few days after the pressure cooker.

Trust me.

BUT if it’s pooling at the bottom of the jar then maybe you have too much water content. I would try shaking the jar and letting it sit for a day or two so long as it isn’t inoculated already. Pooling water is bad. 👎

I like to shake them a few times over a couple hours after pressure cooking so I can help the moisture disperse. Just wait til they are cool enough to touch then shake em and sit them down for a bit then shake em again. Use em when they’re cool enough to inoculate.
