    #26864422 - 08/05/20 11:48 AM (3 years, 6 months ago)

So, I used to have these identified, but for the life of me I can't remember what they are,and if they're edible

Anybody got any clues?

In my grandmother's overgrown yard. I normally find them in deep woods, growing out of mucky soil.

Kind of but I'm fairly certain that those aren't it.

I believe that this one is related to the Boletes, if I'm not mistaken.

Boletaceae and Polyporaceae are not my strongest points for sure.

So, Boletinellus merulioides then?

Would anybody recommend me trying them out? It says that they are edible but of low quality, but a lot of sites say that about mushrooms that I've tired before, and they end up being very tasty, despite the fact.

I just want to make sure that they are in fact Boletinellus before I decide to cook em up!

Well, the verdict is in. I ate them with some potatoes, eggs, an avocado, and a puffball that I found too,and man they are very delicious!

They have a very nice strong mushroom flavor and smell:awesomenod:

Now, I have a new mushroom to seek out :excited:
