1. Go to a doctor
2. Trim your fingernails
3. Research fasting
4. DO NOT drink turpentine (alotta wackos try to endorse this, but thankfully haven't seen it mentioned)

It's like 2mL (a thimble) of kerosene. Which is the equivalent of diesel fuel.

So I went to urgent care last night and they said yup it's pinworms. Here an RX so I was stoked. Go to fill the 3rd today and they want 800$ and I do not have 800$ so I'm scrambling a bit and going to see if the OTC stuff will do

Try to find a coupon or generic version or ask your doc if there is a less expensive med that does the same thing
Edit - is the medication/drug called levamisole?

This is where the Internet shines. You wasted a lot of money.
Quote:
Diagnosis
Your doctor can confirm the presence of pinworms by identifying the worms or eggs.
To help your doctor make a diagnosis, you can perform the tape test. As soon as the person you suspect has pinworms wakes up and before he or she uses the toilet, washes or gets dressed, press the adhesive side of a piece of transparent tape to the skin around the anus. The eggs stick to the tape.
For best results, perform the tape test three days in a row, and then take the pieces of tape to your doctor. Your doctor can look at the tape under a microscope to see if there are any pinworm eggs. Treatment
To treat pinworm infection, your doctor may recommend over-the-counter pyrantel pamoate or prescribe medication to all members of your household to prevent infection and reinfection.
The most common prescription anti-parasite medications for pinworms are:
Mebendazole Albendazole (Albenza)
You may have mild gastrointestinal side effects during the course of treatment, and you often need to take at least two doses to get rid of the pinworms completely.
Quote:
Pyrantel is a medication used to treat a number of parasitic worm infections.[2] This includes ascariasis, hookworm infections, enterobiasis (pinworm infection), trichostrongyliasis, and trichinellosis.[2] It is taken by mouth.[2]
Side effects include nausea, headache, dizziness, trouble sleeping, and rash.[2] A lower dose should be used in people with liver disease.[2] While it does not appear to be harmful during pregnancy, it has not been studied for this use.[3] It is unclear if it is safe for use during breastfeeding.[2] It is in the antihelmintic family of medications.[4] It works by paralyzing worms.[4]
Pyrantel was initially described in 1965.[5] It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines.[6] Pyrantel is available as a generic medication.[4] It costs less than US$25 per course of treatment in the United States.[1] It may also be used to treat worms in a number of other animals.[5] Contents
1 Pregnancy and breastfeeding 2 Mechanism of action 3 Names 4 References 5 External links
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pyrantel pamoate is considered a Pregnancy category C drug for use during pregnancy for humans, but is in category A for canines and felines. Pyrantel is considered safe to use in nursing animals.[7] Mechanism of action
Pyrantel pamoate acts as a depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent, thereby causing sudden contraction, followed by paralysis, of the helminths. This has the result of causing the worm to "lose its grip" on the intestinal wall and be passed out of the system by natural process. Since Pyrantel is poorly absorbed by the host's intestine, the host is unaffected by the small dosage of medication used. Spastic (tetanic) paralyzing agents, in particular pyrantel pamoate, may induce complete intestinal obstruction in a heavy worm load.[8] This obstruction is usually in the form of a worm impaction and happens when a very small, but heavily parasitized animal is treated and tries to pass a large number of dislodged worms at once. Worms usually pass in normal stool or with diarrhea, straining, and occasional vomiting. Names There are a number of brands, including "Reese's Pinworm Medicine", "Pin-X", "Pin-Rid","PYRANTRIN", "COMBANTRIN", "Anthel", "Helmintox", "Helmex", "Strongid" and Drontal Cat.

No I don't . I've had a lot of mental issues this past year and went from bad to worse in those departments. I really do want to exercise but every time I start to I have immense pain. I'm going to have to push through it eventually but it's been hard recently. Also I've been eating a lot of takeout recently because our stove broke. Drugs I've needed more of as more problems hit but I keep it to a certain amount a day for each med I take.

Yeah I'm sure trying all those avenues, it's just insane because that was the generic price and there's a 10$ version you can get OTC but I do if he rxed that in particular because I let it go on too long or what. Hopefully I can just take the 10$ one or else I'm all kinds of screwed.
Also @ Asante thank you for that info I've been looking at Reeses as well and it seems like that would totally work, if it does I'll be happy and a little pissed that they delayed giving me treatment to try and make money for that drug.

I hand pinworms as a kid once. I pooped and my butthole was super itchy so I wiped and the shit on the paper was riddled with crawly pinworms.
I took the evidence of ass biology straight to mom and I got pills that ended it.

Dead is dead. If your OTC contains Pyrantel and you can match the dose with what Reese gives, by all means take the cheapest generic.
Worm pills should cost next to no money, they hand em out in developing nations like M&Ms.

Go vegetarian. Simple. In third world countries I have seen some horrid ones that stretch out quite large. How you can't notice that in your body I do not know. Or pay 20 grand to have it removed from you.
Garlic, they hate it. Same with onions. For future reference. Always be aware of what you put in your body.
Hey, this guy is suffering. Don't tell us what to eat! Don't care. The constitution used to be that you could put anything in your body. More fascist nowadays. Kidney stones, I helped here then my boss wanted to fuck me.
No judgement, I wish, which is stupid, I hope, I wish. Dumb. Understand your body, psychology, anatomy. And to just sense how you feel. Just learn, we all do in life and only the strongest and intelligent and research with the internet it is easy of course, how to not get those in ones body. And how to get rid of them.
Could post a lot of pictures of tapeworms being removed but I seeing that once is enough. Best to you. Heal. The body has a remarkable way of doing that if one gets it. It is not complicated.

If its just pinworms, poison the well with pyrantelTM
They arre not worms the size of earthworms and they're not the kind that eat through your bowel walls, inro your bloodstream and from there into your major organs and eyes.
Its just pinworms, roughly the size of thin grains of rice.
Interestingly, if you kill em they might digest so its possible that you dont see them come out as they may be digested along with the food.
On the OTD side of things you might crap out a bolus of near pure worm matter
You are now infectious, ideally wipe the rtoilet seat with a lil hand sanitizer to kill the eggs.

Oh well then you do have an idea of how crazy it is, wish it was that clear for me, if I saw anything when wiping I would've been able to tell a lot sooner then this. One of my biggest mistakes was just thinking shit looks weird and if there's a little blood it must've been because of hemmoroids.
Assuming really screwed me. Also when anyone here is going through mental problems where you aren't taking care of hygiene because of depression I know you know it's important but I personally will now have a rule that no matter how depressed I get hygiene is an everyday thing and something you can't ignore even if you don't care about your well being that day. I think partially I thought I have been in positions before where I am camping and much dirtier then I am now, what's the worst that could happen if I only showered a few times in a week while I'm feeling bad? Turns out a lot of bad shit can happen.Quote:

Yeah seeing your post about the effectiveness of it is very encouraging, I'm probably going to do that in the next few hours if I don't get to talk to that doc. You're right it's a very simple chemical fix that should be just as effective as the months rent priced doses that's just fucked up.
@Barnaby it ended up being pinworms but your heart is in the right place and I appreciate that
@ Asante The toilet seat! Of course, I've been washing everything in the house but I forgot that. Yeah I'm going to be getting this I'm sure it'll be a very painful ordeal to expel all those little fuckers but it will be worth every internal scream lol the more I think about it you're right no matter what the doctor says I should just take the Oct stuff asap. It works for tons of other people. Even though I didn't catch mine for a long time dead is dead like you said

Eating isn’t the only way to get one of many different species of parasitic worms They can be transmitted through the skin and other orifices too. Best be cautious everyone.
Next thing you know the worms are going to join forces with the SARS-cov2 virus and transform into something out of a horror flic
ST, often times docs don’t know how much some of the meds they prescribe might cost at any given location. As long as you can take the same dose he prescribed, but with a cheaper otc version, you will essentially be getting the exact treatment you need.
Just make sure you take the equivalent dose in the way he rx’d the original for. Ex. *X drug* - 400mg x TID for 3 days, or whatever it says.

Sounds to me like scam by doctor.
You have your diagnosis
There is a $10 OTC medication (Reeses and generic)
Why then 800 bucks for a prescription fill? :
Are they seriously letting you fill each pill individually?
Even if you already had 1 or 2 doses of the Rx one, if it means you can dodge a $800 bill just do a $10 OTC treatment instead.
