Is there ANY good argument for blocking traffic? 4

I'm asking honestly. I posted this in another thread but I think it deserves one of its own.
BLM protesters were blocking the road in their typical asshattery fashion the other night (you know which side of the argument I am on), and some black man gets out of his car and says, "Get the fuck out of my way! I got bills to pay!"
Video source, here.
I love how they just stepped aside cuz he was black. If some white dude got out of the car, they would have stopped him from going, which of course makes me think they're a bunch of racists whether they realize it or not. (They blocked the road up again after he passed. You can see it in the next video below via the link.)
All that aside though.... we can clearly see this black man and likely any other stuck in traffic were NOT pleased and likely did NOT feel like what these protesters were doing was helping the cause.
(Speaking of, "the cause..." I've heard it thrown around that BLM is about police brutality, but I think if you asked the average member of the movement if BLM was "just" about police brutality, they'd say, "absolutely not.")
So given the fact that many, if not most black men and women, would be frustrated with these people stopping them in traffic, what actual good is blocking traffic doing?
And furthermore, even IF they could discriminate and let black people through and not white people, (which is what they JUST did in this video), isn't that racist?
So how is standing in front of cars helping anything at all? I understand roads are shut down temporarily due to planned marches, but marches move. It's not anything like this "blocking the road and holding signs" types of protests that have been going on.

There are very few arguments against it. Driving a car isn’t a right.

Vahn: “protesters not letting traffic through is an outrage”
Also vahn: “protesters letting traffic through is racist”
Conservatives have very confusing rules for protesting.

Arguing that cars and drivers have a right to move about in the face of protests is generally an argument about being rich enough to own a car and thus deserving right of way. Of course most laws state the opposite.

I love how you just assumed without evidence. Again.
There's a whole thread about protests needing to be disruptive to be effective.

Blocking traffic usually results in LESS support for a movement rather than gaining support. So in other words, blocking traffic isn't a good tactic and it usually backfires on those people seeking additional support for their cause.

Fixed that for you, since you're the most intellectually dishonest debater on this board.

Streets have long served as places for social interaction. In fact, this is the case for far longer than cars have existed. The entire, "but muh car" attitude is one of ignorance and nothing more. What it helps, you are here whining about it, so apparently it got BLM on you radar. For them, that is a win, whether you realize it or not.

1. It's an incredibly accessible tactic. Everyone lives near a busy road so you don't have to travel very far to protest, and it's not very technically challenging so no specialized skills are necessary.
2. It's very effective at getting attention. Not every protest tactic is an appeal to public opinion; often the goal is to shut things down until the injustice is addressed. Traffic blockades cannot be ignored.
3. Right to protest > licence to drive
Is there ANY good argument for driving your vehicle into people blocking traffic?

I’ve really enjoyed watching you have to take the worst positions on issues just to counter me. I feel I’ve contributed greatly to turning you into a guy who will make a fool of himself just to find a way to label even the most deserved criticism of trump as TDS.

If you're strategizing a big demonstration, you may want to block roads to prevent police or military vehicles from getting to the main protest.

If you've seen pics of hong kong streets with bricks stacked here and there, that is the purpose. Works fairly well against wheeled vehicles. A physical impediment to vehicles is essential for a protest that is trying to avoid being kettled. Foreknowledge of which streets will be blocked allows for pre-planning of escape routes.

Blocking streets isn't the same as blocking major highways. I think most people feel the same way as well, nobody wants to be stuck in miles of standstill traffic on a major highway with no chance of turning around.

The only time it should ever be considered is in a situation like Tiananmen where you are trying to physically prevent people from getting killed by doing so. Aside from that, there is never any good argument for blocking traffic, and in addition it hurts and discredits protests. It has never, ever even once helped the cause that the people blocking traffic are trying to advocate for. Every time, it hurts their cause. Every time.
MLK Jr and others back in the 60s could have done that, and I'm sure someone brought it up at some point, but they never did.

You are correct, and in fact most major highways are limited to vehicular traffic only. Some even have minimum horsepower limits, meaning slow vehicles aren't allowed either. However, the vast majority of protests don't spread to these types of roads. If you look up the definition of street or avenue you will find that they are public roads. The word "public" is included in that definition. This all may seem pedantic, but when you discuss things like public space and the right to protest you have to understand their actual nature. When a planner plans a street, the intention is that it is public, and not exclusively for vehicles.
