I will not try to change your mind at all from voting Republican. I personally despise Trump and cannot stand him and think he is an embarrassment to the Republican choice. But most liberals stance right now is not based on truly doing a better job but simply on proving how awful Trump really is how he did not combat corona virus correctly and how the economy is in shambles. Most liberals ideas of doing better is pretty much the same shitty stance Trump took on things but with the additional the those police stations needed to be burned down. Honestly those fuckers got themselves in that mess. Who didn't get themselves in this mess are the sick and unemployed people in the United States.
Will Biden come out swinging any second now with a point by point plan on how he can change this country in unheard of ways and revamp the economy and help all the sick and dying? Well maybe but so far his campaign has hinged on the idea Trump's lack of action can be fixed with a more liberal approach and that is it.
Right now I don't think we need a more liberal approach. I am all for equal rights and smoking weed in every state and god knows I cannot stand Trump. But complaining about someone else's policies seems to be the #1 stance a liberal takes these days with no real solution to do a better job. I have never been more scared during an election you have Trump on one side who like Hitler then Biden on one side and who the fuck knows what he proposes probably with him even more job losses and even more sick and dying people.
If I had it my way I would vote a strong Republican candidate and not Trump but more so someone level headed and if I could vote in every single state I would vote for liberal governors and then my choice of county/city government officials would be choice of who impressed me the most as an individual and not their party affiliation.
In fact this is the first time in history I have ever admitted I would vote for someone simply because of their party affiliation. Usually I cannot believe someone would vote for a candidate based on their party affiliation and not their character as an individual but I would vote out liberals in Senate and The House and of course The White House this year and vote for liberal state government if I had my way to balance out the power struggle. At this point I would not care if everything was 100% quarantine or 100% free and open I would just like the country to be on the same page for the right reasons and the vote to not be a personality popularity contest. Politics is sickening so my vote this year may go to mayor and district representatives and not much else if I vote at all.
It is truly sickening. I do still think Trump will win. I think based on other candidates campaigning against Trump so far Trump is killing it. Sadly. I mean its like taking candy from a bunch of babies. It is what it is.

He's already expressed that the media is the enemy of the people, democracy is only important if the votes go his way, federal militarized police supercede states rights on his whims, corporate profiteering supercedes the peoples' access to clean air and water, oversight/IG's for the executive branch can be replaced with the cronies of people they'd be investigating, etc., etc., etc..
We're pretty much checking off all the boxes of a failing democracy.
Biden won't change anything really, but at this point I'd favor that over another 4 years of everything going downhill except for the bank accounts of wall st folks. I'm someone who's voted for republicans more than democrats, mostly at the state level. The trumpies and todays republicans in washington are a disgrace and nothing more than errand boys for their corporate donors. Most democrats are exactly the same, but some of them are at least smart enough parasites to understand that keeping a host alive and somewhat healthy is necessary for their future survival.
You're really splitting hairs here, D's are completely on board with almost everything Trump has done. In fact, Obama passed the legislation in many cases that enables US Presidents to do so.
The corporate media is the enemy of the people in most cases. How many false narratives that help The Establishment at the expense of the people do you need them to push out?
I will grant you that the D's talk a better game when it comes to the working class, but that's all it is, just talk. Too bad the corporate media doesn't report the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party, at least the Republicans don't hide their disdain for the general population.
The last thing I want to do is defend the democratic party, but that's just disingenuous. All it takes is a cursory glance at any of the stimulus bill drafts by the two parties to see where many differences in priorities lie. And that's just one example, it's not hard to see the overwhelming differences between the parties when it comes to healthcare for all, social security, tax cuts for the wealthy, environmental health and safety, workplace safety, student debt and education, etc etc. Mitch McConnell and the republicans in the senate have basically refused to govern unless the progressives on the left cave to their will.
You know that trump wasn't talking about what you're talking about with the media, he was talking about the stations that are critical of him. How often has he called One America News fake news or the enemy? It's basically a qanon channel at this point, yet he praises it and promotes it. He praised alex jones and infowars and tweeted links to it. The mainstream media has always been biased and people have the right to choose from 10,000 other sources of news, this isn't some north korea one party channel system. A president calling anyone, even corporate grifters, who are exercising their freedom of speech the 'enemy of the people' because they're critical of him is dumb, and dangerous.
You said it much better then I did

Pretty much. But it depends on the break of the leg. A broken leg can easily turn into an amputation. Also at this point one party significantly is the one not chopping off the leg but just breaking it. Which party do you think it is? Too tough for me. I need help on this one.

I kind of get the feeling that in other countries money goes quite a bit further then it does in the US. Like if you go to Japan with $2000 its like you are rich you can live there for 2 months on the $2000 and it would be like living in the US for $8000 for 2 months. I think this gives people the idea the quality of life in most places is much better then here and price wise yet of course it is. The difference is coming from this country to there with money saved is different then growing up dirt broke poor here and having some chance or another to get out of it maybe. But if you start out poor as fuck in Japan you are looking at a whole entirely different lifestyle and chance of ever leaving that poor life. Your best is often to try and get citizenship in the US.
Edit: oops I replied to the wrong thread

Even if you replied to the wrong thread, people in Japan are almost twice as wealthy as people in the US, in US dollars.
The median wealth a person in Japan has is $110,408 (#8 in the world) The median wealth a person in the US has is $65,904 (#22 in the world)
This may well be due to a cheaper cost of living in Japan, but the median person definitely has a lot more money.

Well this reply is based on experience yet is very vague on the notion of how much more wealth a person has in Japan based on their income and the cost of living
it is as though I am still looking for an educated reply and may never get one

Japan and America have very similar economies when it comes to the prices of things, aside from things like housing and parking. Space is very limited in Japan's cities so they can really charge a lot for people that want it.
(Now that I think about it though, many of America's major cities are stupid pricey for even studios now, too.)

Without a doubt. I paid 2510 yen for a champagne glass of beer in my drinking days. They still cant fathom penis in porn, either.

Dicks too expensive over there? Total opposite of the US mindset where the only thing more expensive then Obama's white house bills were Michelle Obama's white house bills. Hmm pussy is cheaper then dick in Japan. You got to really dump some money for that. Why am I not in Japan? what a culture

Lets get this thread back on topic eh? ok so the GOP is screwing us all with economic incompetence. Also the coronavirus numbers are totally not acceptable. The GOP can't fix one or the other so the country is in hell right now while this limbo continues while other countries are on the rise even through the worst of covid scenarios they got their shit together.
Question remains: what the fuck is Biden going to do any different? Make up a bunch of scenario fixes and do even worst? Why should we vote for his stupid ass? I hate the GOP but can anyone on the other side really fix this mess?

Trump bashed the Swedish legal system because they arrested a rapper and made him stand trial for attacking someone on the street in Stockholm.

Trump has yet to say anything about the former marine who was convicted to a decade in prison on flimsy evidence in Russia. He has now gone missing. If he can defend a rapper who was caught on tape beating a man in Sweden, why can’t he say anything about a man who has essentially been kidnapped by Russia?
Trump has been very vocal about American citizens caught up in foreign countries’ legal systems. Except Russia’s.
