Poor Cops * 3
    #26860405 - 08/03/20 09:49 AM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Too much flak. Theyre trained to assume that everybody they come across: 1. wants to kill them 2. has the means to kill them and 3. is about to try to kill them.

The state molds them into paranoid schizophrenics and then gives them a gun and tells em to go look for trouble. And people wonder why theyre always shooting people. We practically got bands of post-apocalyptic bounty hunters as our peacekeepers. It's inevitable that when cops are around, people dont feel safer, they feel like potential prey to a predator. It's just how cops are designed to be in the US

Yeah I don't feel that way when cops are around. Maybe 'cos our cops aren't policing an armed society they are not so much in fear of being killed every time that they 'clock on' for a days work.

Maybe the 2nd amendment gets you the police service you deserve?

Not everyone that becomes a cop stays a cop. Usually it's because of the pay, the hours, or moral reasons. No one is forced to do or believe anything. "If you don't like your job, quit." So if you don't mind being scared and ruining lives, keep your job. But there are lots of folks out there who've also never hurt a fly, they help their communities and weigh their actions.

Im just saying that if your employees are trained horribly then of course your business will be terrible. Disregarding anything to do with morality, cops are trained to be bad and stupid and impulsive so most cops are bad and stupid and impulsive.

It's a control tactic. We can make all the laws in the world but it's the police that enforce them. Control their minds and you control something greater than politics.

We're all raised by our parents and by school to follow orders or get fucked. Not really crazy that the cop who used a textbook takedown on a 15 yr old girl who was yelling at him just didnt even have much thought about the action other than remembering his training which was to treat everyone and everything like a threat and neutralize every threat asap with whatever force necessary. Most humans are just kinda thoughtless and are cucks to people above them, Officer Joe Blow isnt out to save the world he's out to get a pat on the back by his boss because that's how we're taught to approach life in every aspect of our childhood.

Schools are fascist propaganda centers above all, prove me wrong.

At least we have real cops. I swear it's in the training for european cops to instead of subduing and arresting a criminal, pull up a second cop car and give it to him and hope he drives himself to the police station. I would rather get shot in the face for having a phone in my hand in america, than have to live with the embarrassment of being policed by euro cops...

And just a 'FYI'. European cops are routinely armed but still don't have the same lack of respect for the citizens that they police as the police in America have for theirs..

Hundreds of cops in my city make over a 250k a year, a handful make over 500k. There's evidence of rampant corruption and payroll/overtime abuse, there have been cops getting paid for $240/hr construction details caught posting pics of themselves at the beach during their supposed shifts, entire departments of state troopers stealing 100k+ each for years in fake overtime, getting convicted and still being allowed to finish their careers and retire with their full pensions. Making doctor money for a job you don't even have to show up for seems worth the 0.02% chance of actually getting killed.

I guess the humor is too subtle? Are you not American or if you are do you live in a liberal city? There's tons of self styled "patriots" who can't help themselves from taking the initiative to lavishly praise the police force any chance they get and the shirt makes use of hyperbolic parody to make fun of them

I feel exactly the same, and the cops here aren't even likely to pepper me with holes if I move suddenly or surprise them. But their very presence is a threat to my freedom. I live with the reality that what I do to myself makes me a criminal in the eyes of the puppet masters. I know there'll be little mercy if they ever realise I'm not a drone.

I think it's consistent to both recognize that cops are human beings who have their own thoughts, emotions, desires, and whatnot while also recognizing that the US police force as an institution is in serious need of change.

Furthermore, it's not like cops are born into being cops. It's a career path. If it's not a healthy lifestyle, you can quit any time. There are other ways to serve and protect your community if that's what you wanna do with your life.

People get stubborn and nervous and twitchy around cops, which pisses them off. If you know how cops work youll know how to behave around them and how to navigate the interaction as smoothly and uneventfully as possibly.

Cop interactions go wrong when people slip up and lose their temper or show discomfort or disliking for the cop, acting entitled, etc. which too many people seems to suck at

Yeeeaahhh, this should NOT happen. They are controlling a persons moves by intimidation and that's just wrong.

Why in the FUCK should we as a non cop/citizen "have to know how to behave around THEM". FUCK THEM and their fucked up intimidation and power trips!

I partly agree here, but don't you think the cops are "acting entitled" on their power trip of having a murder/killing weapon right there in plain sight on their hip and ready to just shoot at any given moment or feeling of threat no matter how small or whatever etc...? Why the fuck should we have the upmost respect for someone intimidating the fuck out of us with a weapon on their person and their fucking hand on it when they approach the car?

My interactions with cops have generally gone pretty smoothly, but any time I've been pulled over I made sure to have the relevant documents ready before they came to the window. I did once see some pull some crazy shit on my cousin once when he apparently (sort of) resembled the description of someone who had committed a rape nearby. They were so certain he was the guy (based on "white guy with dreads") that it took them a while to think of checking his arms for the defensive scratch wounds the guy was supposed to have. In the meantime one of them told him "You know, I could punch you in the head right now" for not having any clue what the fuck they were talking about.

I dunno Rexy-baby, one can argue about what 'should be' and what's 'right' all day long, but it don't make it so.

I think trees is absolutely spot on. It's well worth bearing in mind how much one can win, if one 'plays the game' well, as compared to how much one can lose if one becomes stubborn and refuses to play or to learn the game.

Cops are a thing. Rules and laws are a thing. If we break them, it's on us to mitigate any damage to ourselves, right?

It will only destroy what you are not.

Rosa Parks shouldve just shut up and known her place. If she didnt wanna get arrested maybe she should've just gone to the back of the bus like the rules said. Wouldve been way easier for her if she just played the game!

Problem is profiling. You can do everything by the book and have a shit time because you have the "wrong" look and meet the wrong cop.

This is a definite problem. I am a clean cut shaved white middle aged man in a decent car with short hair (well, long hair now) and ray bans. Do you really think they would think I had LSD, mushrooms, weed, coke, and cactus tar on me? I'm guessing no, and I never travel with all that. BUT, I may take it to my cabin for use and could get popped on the way, but highly unlikely due to my "look".

Yep, I know all to well about game playing to get by. I have done it since I learned of the game. I have gone to the fringes and pushed it for myself, but still manage to stay in the game. I'm in it, to win it! (not really, but I like that saying) I'm a hippy incognito (new band name).
:nursemaryjane:

I play the game just as everyone else does. I'm at a VERY comfy level in it too.
