MVP right here my dude, 34 people read this thread one body answers shit....
Yeah that's exactly what i thought since honey is not water based. The only questions should be is how long can mycelium last ?
i heard that honey jars can last 1 year i also heard 3 years.
How should i store it when its ready in the fridge? and than let it warm up at room temp? When i know it is ready?, because i have it 2 weeks and mycelium from the clone sample is now around 1,1 inche/3cm i heard that it in the beginning starts slow and than takes off is that true in your experience? what is the average time for its completion?

Ah a honey LC, gotcha. A honey LC still has loads of water in it depending on the tek you used.
Those should hold for a while. How long is hard to say, theres a few variables at play. Ideally you have a way to break up the mycelium cloud thatll form over time (magnetic stirrer, marble, or glass shard) , as its quite the nightmare to suck up a solid mass of myc (youll need to some big gauge needles). Easy way to clog a syringe.
The LC culture is technically ready once you see the cloud has formed. If youre looking to expand that LC into many jars, youll want to of course let the myc grow. The size of growth is limited by the amount of nutrients available (aka amount of honey). Theres really no set amount of time for it fully colonize.
I personally wouldnt use any LC thats been sitting for over 6 months. If you need to slow down growth, place it in the fridge. If you want to use it within the next 3 months, keep it somewhere room temp and give it a nice stir every couple of days so its easier to suck up once youre ready.
Heres a 4 year old Honey Tek where the OP used his LC within a week or two of seeing myc growth: Mycologist Honey LC TEK

You could if you sterile tek is solid. Otherwise I would just make another fresh jar with the magnetic stirrer in it, PC sterilize and then inject about 1-3ccs from the "master" jar. There should be enough myc in the syringe to propagate the new jar after a good swirl and/or pulling in the lc and shooting it out quickly and then re-drawing it back up.

You could transfer that myc no problem. Not quite there for grains yet.
2 weeks is a little long for that size growth. Mine are usually that size in 3-5 days. It *could be* already contaminated. If you arent there with agar yet, i would recommend grabbing some pre-poured plates and testing the LC first in a simple SAB. If it is contaminated, then transfer out until "clean" and then throw it (the agar wedge) into the LC solution (more work in the beginning, less headaches in the end). Viola - clean LC.
I prefer corn syrup 4% (or about 1tblsp per 500ml) as it seems to colonize better (for me) and less chance of cloudy sediment that makes it hard to see.
The length of time an LC is "good" is variable. I wouldnt be keeping it around longer than a couple of months and would definitely refrigerate when not in use. Possible contamination is the biggest determining factor, the more you use it and the longer you keep it, the more chances of this happening.
Hope this helps
For reference i attached a pic at 3 days:

i took a fresh mushie and split it open than i took a sample with a syringe and squirted it in the LC. can that be a reason why it takes so long ? the sample is around 0.03 inch 1mm thick

Definitely a variable. What exactly was your process? This will help with diagnoses.

I guess just wait it out a bit more. 2 weeks is getting up there, but TBH i havent used the tissue to LC tek. Good luck with it

yes thanks maxmush. last question though i wanted to clone because of faster inoculation time of the rye bags and bigger yield. what is the yield difference of typical and average growth percentage compared to M.S?

Well it all depends. MS is a crap shoot and will take more transfers and time. Most of the time it will be contaminated and have way too many strains which leads to inconsistent yields. I dont have much experience with tissue transfers to LC, but i would assume that it would be much better than MS.
Patience is the #1 skill in mycology.

since i can not store LC long. and i dont want to grow mushies just to have a fresh sample to make a LC. is there a cloning method that is good for longer term storage? (1 or multiple years)

Agar slants for long term storage.
BTW once you get into it, you'll likely not want to keep them that long. Until you know how to clone and transfer and what to look for, it wont make a lot of sense to keep them that long.
