LC syringe to agar, how does my plate look? Cubensis

Hey everyone, I’m still new to agar and was wondering if I could get some input on what to look for in a colonizing plate. The picture below is of Jedi mind fuck (cubensis) from an LC syringe from a random source. I inoculated about 14 plates and 1 quart rye jar. The jar is colonizing with no visible contam, and all the plates produced uneven thick fluffy myc. My main question is, regarding the picture below, what do the obvious separations of mycelium mean? And what about the stripe pattern? If you were to transfer from this plate using clock position where would you take it?

Any insight would be much appreciated! Thank you

Yeah I understand, can you at least see the sectoring in the first picture? Does that mean different genetics? Contam? What about the stripe pattern?

It does not look to be contaminated but that is a very diverse colony.

Okay interesting, so hopefully the separations in mycelium are just different cube genetics not connecting? I used an LC syringe and had trouble getting just one drop out, so it traveled all over the surface of the plate. Thank you!

I’m hoping it’s just diverse tomentose growth.. but I don’t really know how this works yet.

I hear ya jcm, I mean I think they’re pretty clean I’m just curious what I’m looking at in the formation and division.

Okay I have some update pictures. I took transfers from two of the most uniform looking plates, and this is what they look like now.

They’re much more uniform after transferring. At this point I’m LC syringe>agar> first agar transfer. How do they look? Is it fuzzy because of tomentose mycelium? We’re the first plates chaotic looking because LC rolled around the surface of the agar cause many cubensis colonies to grow? I want to know how to tell that apart from mold contam. Any insight would be appreciated thank you.
