Planning First Grow: Comments, Criticisms Welcome

I've been researching for awhile now, and once I aquire my spores, I'll begin my first grow.
I plan on innoculating 6 1/2 pint jars using the brown rice flour and vermiculite method from the PF Tek. They will be incubated in a two Tupperware and fish tank heater style incubator at 84 - 88 degrees. I'll then do a few casings in Tupperware containers inside a larger fruiting chamber. I'll have a half inch to an inch of Perlite lining the bottom, and I have an air pump to maintain air exchange.
I have a 10 watt 50/50 flourescent light (half white light, half blue) that will be on a timer to provide light while fruiting.
I'm not looking for any outrageous yields, just enough to supply me and my friends. Any advice, criticism, suggestions, whatever, would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advanced.

88F is a little too high to incubate the jars in, shouldnt be over 85-86F.

Check. The incubator is now at a constant 84F. How's that sound?

Its good to see somebody starting out that has done the research instead of asking questions that could easily been found in FAQs. Looks like you are well prepared and on your way. Try and keep incubation as close to 84 because the jars will generate heat themselves. Don't be too anxious and over zealous, checking on them every 3-4 days is good. Remember to patch your casings. Good luck!

Thats good enough. Why you got it on now though if you don't even have your spores yet? It dosen't take long to warm up.

he is testing it. I ran my cabinet for 4 days before I put anything in it. Make sure it is stabilized.

^^^ Yup, just testing it for now. Would rather know that theres a problem now rather than when the jars are actually in there. Better safe than sorry, right? Oh, by the way, I left the incubator on overnight (the window in my room was also open, and it was kind of cold last night), and the temperatures ranged from a low of 79F to a high of 85F. That's alright, correct? And one more thing. When I have my casings inside the fruiting chamber, there will be probably two smaller Tupperware containers, each containing roughly three PF cakes. Is this too many cakes? Too little? Just right? And should I put holes in the bottom of these containers to allow water to flow out? Or would the water/moisture from the perlite layer wick into the substrate and overwater it? Another question. I have two 5" x 5" Tupperware tubs that I will do the casings in. The fruiting chamber is 11" x 7", so the tubs will be right next to each other. Will this be a problem or will the light help them to grow straight and not interfere with each others space? Thanks.

Those temps are fine. When placing cakes next to each other, its a good idea to give roughly 3" of space between each other to allow for the pins popping up on the side to grow. Casings next to each other is fine because pins will only grow straight up(hopefully) depending how much light is given per day. p.s. You shouldn't need holes. They might cause the cakes to become soggy on the bottom. Just dunk between flushes.
