So from what i understand, you need to harvest right before the veil breaks or shortly after. This is my first time so im not away of what that looks like.
What do i do in this situation?

1. you can always search for what mushroom veil looks like have tons of pictures on here.
2.the cap of mushrooms will expand in size and just on bottom of the cap you will see black veil hanging.
3. in your situation wait bit longer for shrooms to grow more.
also check out all these pictures and see which level of maturity you want to harvest. some people keep growing them even after veil is broke and cap of shrooms twist spores every where. some like to harvest at the point when veil is breaking.

What are those? First image makes me think of PE, the second makes me think of aborted pins

They’re suppose to be b+ but it doesnt look like it huh? The ones in the second picture still have color, the caps dont seem to be dark in color (darker than the rest anyway.

Im still trying to get familiar with this websites search engine. Thanks for the reply. Now if i do wait for the little ones to mature and the bigger ones do send spores, will that cause any problems?

I have heard that the spores taste terrible, but have no experience there; other than that, not to my knowledge

For a second, I thought you had dumped coffee beans directly around your pins, until I realized they were all pins lol, that’s crazy.
Definitely give those some more time to grow. If some mature before others, you can cut the cap off to prevent the mature fruits from dumping spores everywhere. I’ve never noticed that spores add an odd taste, but my nose and taste buds are sub par.

Yea i wasnt expecting multiple clusters with that many pins. Im kinda bewildered, i wasnt aware they even grew in clusters. I appreciate the advice tho.

1.spores does not cause any issues except for grow area looks like a disaster but nothing to worry about.
2. at some point in this hobby you will eat fruits with spore on them. the taste of shrooms is like either you hate them or love them.
3. you will see a lot of cluster grows and some solo grows. all normal
4. since you are growing B+ be positive and you will see huge caps.
5. when the big ones are all grown up consider your flush to be complete and take the bigger ones out leave the pins dunk the cake and do all over again those tiny pins will mature. with every flush you will get small to big mushrooms. the only time you want to take the pins out is when the cap is gone black or gray other than that let them be.

After the veil breaks. Don’t worry yourself like crazy like you have to watch them every minute waiting for that. Few days you’ll have bunch of fruits. Not sure why they look so dark I’ve had some odd shorties that color but not that many. Maybe it’s the pic. Please keep updating us with more pics as you go. Looks great though, I’m not use to seeing clusters that dense in one area but shit it’s cool and they are growing so can’t complain. Just wait and see what happens and keep them happy.

to be honest 2 weeks after inoculation i didnt see any growth from bag B, bag A had already colonized roughly 30 percent or so. so i injected bag B with 5cc huautia and that sucker blew up. possibly adding the cluster genetic? idk could be a possibility. i dont think i could do this without this site and the people in it.

Do you know of any good dunking tutorials? Would a heavy mist suffice? i feel like trying to dunk a whole casing would be messy and possibly cause my substrate to fall apart. from the research ive read people mostly dunk cakes. now that being said, if youve dunked a casing before and it turned out good with no problems, let me know.

They look cool as hell, never injected my bags after initial inoculation. But glad that worked out, especially injecting twice, even more so if it was a different cube. Interesting none the least. And by dunking I more so mean floating, yeah you dunk cakes but you can float subs if need be. Literally in the bath tub. Found some good reads on floating from RR awhile back if you can happen upon them. Good luck and keep up the work. Look good so far

1. some mycelium culture performs way to well on agar but soon as it goes in to new environment it delays to grow. i have seen spore germinating after three weeks. liquid culture taking up to 19 days to show sing of growth. it depends on micro climate and how clean culture are, injecting more culture does not make any difference.
2. its always genetic mushrooms grow in either clusters or solo.
3. substrate conditions looks good. you can mist but very gently small droplets of water thats what you are aiming for.
4. at this point enjoy the growth. you are bit far from first flush to finish.
5. heavy misting will not do after first flush. the cake will be gone too dry and it will need dunking. you can either pour water directly on substrate and place something on top of substrate and let it soak for 8 hours or you can do this method

i personally like this tek. its easy and it involves no touching of substrate.i know when substrate is fully colonize and pulls away from side of tub mycelium is very tough at that point but freaks me out every time i need to touch a brf cake or substrate.

I wouldn’t say let it sit for 8 hours that’s unnecessary for bulk subs. An hour is just fine in the tub let it run down the corner and have something on the sub like Pesa mentioned to hold it down, but leave the water running gently to wash away bacteria and spores that were sitting on the sub. Leave the small pins it won’t damage them long as you don’t scrap them on accident, they will be ready to start fruiting on your next flush.
