It's been known that a drink after a night of drinking cures hangovers.
Hangovers are signs of acute alcohol withdrawal.

Don't ever be ashamed of drinking a good gin. Bombay Sapphire is my favorite mixed with tonic. Not Sprite or such garbage.
That is a wonderful buzz throughout one's body. I know the cutoff point. Haven't thrown up in 4 years. Shouldn't be proud of that fact but in a way I am.
God, I am just going to drink through Covid. This Summer is a waste. My extra money is going to quality alcohol and other such things. Feel like gambling but it feels greedy to me but will probably do it anyway.
And yes they give you the bottom shelf shit unless you ask as for some reason the casino's are open but I have no clue who to bet on with the only thing I ever win on which is sports which is like solving a puzzle this Summer.
Strange year. Not afraid of getting the virus and if I do I will be sick for a week. Whatever. Not going to hole up in my apartment. God, 105 degrees today. Turning into a night owl.
Hope everyone besides one asshole is enjoying their Summer of Covid. Fucking sucks and I have like so many masks. They hand them out just going into a grocery store now.

Have you ever tried this stuff gopher? Kind of like a cross between tonic water and a root beer or cola style drink.

Yeah. Vodka and soda water with a squeeze of lemon and a lot of ice, one of my favorite Summer drinks.
And yeah O.P. Bombay Sapphire is my favorite. And with that, because of the proof but quality of it, just mix in small amount of tonic water.
Whiskey is a whole different animal. Love just plain 12 year old scotch single malt. Like silk going down one's throat. No burn at all.
God have to stop writing about hard liquor. I get the alcoholics not that anyone here is one. Just not having to work and getting the best food and booze as that is how it is in America now for the time being.
I am ok being called a functional alcoholic from those that know me and those that don't with judgements and self-righteousness, can fuck off. Living in my home state of Utah. Endless, and I mean endless ones that want prohibition and abortion illegal again here.
Drunkard.com always makes me feel better. Just know how to handle ones alcohol consumption and DRINK RESPONSIBLY! Only had alcohol poison once but was on lsd so over did it. That always made me laugh though I do nowadays.
And O.P., I don't care if it is on sale, never buy New Amsterdam middle shelf gin. It is horrid and basically gave me a fever for a couple of days to recover from a massive supply of it. Top shelf and within reason but who am I to...I just have a lot of free time and government money, make your own damn choice. Unasked for advice is so prevelant here. Everyone thinks they are getting a planet or are going to be God and Goddesses which is amusing but are some of the most fascist people on earth.
Tomorrow is my birthday. Going to celebrate right around the right people. And oh yes, I will be getting really fucked up and dance and splurge. Life is good. Even in the Summer of Covid.

Sounds like a Good Man.
Beer day. 3 straight weeks of drinking each day. But rehydrate and sea salt, gatorade, and healthy food within reason, I will continue this regimen.
And of course know ones limits. Mentioned it before but haven't puked for 4 years. Proud of that lol. Enjoy people!

I loved Gin and Tonic's one day. Friends took me to a professional preseason football game. Drank many over the day. Went down soooo easy. Proceeded to get sick as a dog, puke all over the floor on our seats, and was escorted out by my friends/cousin. My friends still remind me, almost yearly, of my rant on the way out: screaming at the top of my lungs to anyone who would interact with me "if your okay, i'm okay".
Careful out there.

Hey, you, get off of my cloud. I always remember looking into a bar when I was young and broke and feeling horrible seeing this guy through the glass, basically communicating that to me. It is a reminder to never put myself in envy and lack. Great song when drinking.
On a cloud now. Fuck Covid and again, will drink my way through it in these trying times. Am so fucking bored! Am really fucked up now and will buy a kitten and treat with respect and drink and pills.
Doctor got pissed. You can't drink on this. Well yes I can. I know how my body works. Why am I even writing this? Getting cabin fever. Feel like I could hike a mountain then something clicks and in Utah where I live I would be arrested at this hour of the night. Like a ghost town on weekdays and Sunday here.
On my cloud. Stand up comedy tomorrow night with open mic and masks and social distancing. When ordering a gin and tonic just don't say that. They will give you bottom shelf garbage that gives one more of a fever than a good and mellow feeling. I tried Bartons once. I just sat on a couch at a club and it felt like it gave me a fever. Just thought of Walken.
Bombay or I love Grey Goose vodka. Love the shit. Try to enjoy life through Covid people. Where is my mind? Focus.
"I can't believe he is still standing." "Yeah, one tough motherfucker". Lol. Would like to see everything with credit reset to zero. Would be great.
I apologize. This bender is quite fun. On a SNL binge. Say no to speedballs people. I have had my share, and drunk and in a tub full of ice with a man they called the doctor putting ice under my balls. Seriously. Many demonize alcohol but heroin, no, just no.

What we really want to know is...what happened to beer girl?
Bombay tomorrow and some decent tonic water. We have only state liquor stores in Utah in the States that are only open where I live from 11-7.
God only knows what I will post as I have had a break from it. Some fresh lime as well and sea salt, good to go on this drinking through Covid movement. I am an expert cook for what the body needs on a bender.
And yes I shamefully admit to rehydrate I use Gatorade and/or Vitamin water but when one starts to have dreams of endlessly trying to drink water or peeing in a toilet but no relief before waking up and then doing so, it is good to rehydrate.
Awhile back when beer was 3.2 here at markets not by the state and that inane tax was partying with my brother and his two friends. And heard that his friend host had to throw out the couch because Bill pissed himself and he couldn't get the smell gone. He also hit him over the head with a wooden 2 by 4 in the yard not because of that, just being blackout drunk and Bill would never come by anymore.
Not one for violence and I shouldn't find it amusing. Bill is a big guy and wasn't hurt much at all and one of those types that looks for fights. Why I never really hung around him much. Especially for no reason with strangers and I am just thinking, why am I around this man?
Anyway. This is going to be fun. I can go through of fifth of it in two days with some beer. Carry on people through covid. We can all overcome this together! Lol.
Aliens. My brother once said he was offered to with one on a ship and he declined, I shit you not.
https://drunkard.com/03-04-aliens/
MD: No wonder they keep throwing the probe on you! You’ve no spirit! They have you utterly daunted. Daunted! Have you ever heard of a drunkard being abducted?
TT: Actually, no.
MD: I should think not! A drunkard with a belly full of rum would shake off tractor beams like crêpe paper and proceed to flog the entire alien landing party into a cringing mass. Oh, they stay away from the bars at closing time, I’ll wager you that.
Survive these horrid times good man.

The bender begins. Holy shit, they have lines outside the liquor store in 95 degree heat and wearing a mask sweating like a pig and finally get in. Bombay was on sale! Awesome. Just having it on the rocks.
Tasting the herbals in it. And they had another one that was higher proof with 2 more herbals in it. Same price but thought, no.
Just glad to see people trying to make something at the end of Summer with sports and people around each other. That is the thing with Covid. No one cares all that much about the smaller things in life like drinking a beer on the walk to the liquor store.
I played softball and to end a game got a ground ball and threw it like 3 feet from the first baseman and I am a good player. He did the best he could to stretch out, but wow, never been a clutch player and even drinking the fear that went through me before I made the throw to win it, wow.
I quit the team. Shame. Plus no bathrooms or water and in the projects/west side so people don't shoot up and bathe in the fountains. Scary even getting to the Park. And of course, no lighting. Property taxes. Poverty people. Some are ok but the majority with bars on windows and violent fucked up people to just walk to a game, don't want a DUI, is fucked up.
Should I go piss or shit in the bushes? But homeless get to watch some really shitty softball. Done with it. Just thinking outloud why I wait Stephen Colbert to come on.
Thanks O.P. for posting that topic. I forgot how much I loved a quality gin. Jibberjabber. A wine glass? No. With respect but holy shit I can get some bad hangovers and I have prescribed Ibuprofin, so not so bad as long as I eat. I once crawled to first base after a grounder and grabbed my shit and left very quickly afterwards but one learns. Empty stomach, had trouble turning on the lights for a night game so kept on drinking waiting. Excuses, excuse. On with life!

Go with a a higher shelf one or you will regret it when you get back to work. Enjoy your week off.
Amazing how time can crawl and time can fly. Your off week will fly. Then you will you see how time crawls.
Saw a movie that I can relate to. Worst thing in the world is having a clock in front of your face when working. Worked a computer cubicle and I got it! She keeps looking at the clock and then all of a sudden it starts moving backwards.
Ultimate boredom. Time is relative. Enjoy your week.

get a still and have a go at making your own, its easy enough - the fun comes in fine tuning the botanicals for your own tastes -theres no long aging involved like with whiskey etc.
* my recommendation if you are buying it (and can get it) is the botanist gin , dont buy any old crap tonic either -get something like fevertree tonic which has natural quinine instead of favouring.

"natural quinine instead of favouring." Flavoring but we all forgive in this wonderful world of esoteric land. I throw in a k-pin and wow, i'm floating. Like to watch it dissolve in it and the bubbles.
Hit the nail on the head.
Time for some music. I'm flying.
God this cracks me up.

Yes, the wonderful world of drugs and alcohol in general. Running joke is a beer company of of Bend, Oregon with the slogan of "Cheap Fun". Yeah well, it kind of is. Shit Bombay and beer took me two days off that binge but was a fun two days but not cheap.
Going to a casino. No "cheap fun" to be had lol. I don't know, it is early and on my substances and just seeing this M that had to just be 21 rushing and grabbing it still makes me laugh.
What is "CHEAP FUN" anyway?
Ugghh. Thank God for plastic flasks. The two hour bus ride is horrendous on the "fun bus", kind of in the same vein as "CHEAP FUN" but betting heavily who gives a shit about cheap beer or hard liquor? Am the all in type. One puts a lot of money on a wager and it is a drug all of its own.
God, had a guy that lost at the end on a baseball game complaining to me about $50 and losing his bet. A grand put down putting in my ticket as the Red Sox had the game done by the sixth and she was putting down hundreds for 2 grand on what I bet on and my winnings.
That is the thing, when one places a ticket it is all in. The cash one puts in and what one wins. It is not just about the winnings but glad one put in the risk and gets that back as well. But also learning to take a loss.
This woman just staring as she watched the sportsbook cashier plop down hundreds makes me laugh and I gave out a big shout of "FUCK YA!" As I was walking out of the casino. But gamblers get it as do I when people win big. You have to go really out of your way to get 86'd from a casino. And drinks 24/7 when one wants of whatever one wants is great. God I am on a high.
But shit, everything has been so close lately with the NBA. That fear and anxiety and either rush and elation or that horrible feeling of "only if". But that is sports.

Bombay & Hendricks are definitely my two favorite gins. Both are perfect for gin and tonics. They aren't cheap bottles, but they are worth every single fucking penny

Tonic water is a carbonated beverage that has a chemical called quinine dissolved in it. ... Under an ultraviolet "black light," the quinine in tonic water makes the water fluoresce a brilliant, bright blue (even though only a relatively small amount of quinine is dissolved in the water)

yeah, I 1st started drinking vodka tonics when I went to a club with my brother, he told me about it and drank them too. "Extra" gum would glow too, don't know if they still make it though.

Have you ever tried this stuff gopher? Kind of like a cross between tonic water and a root beer or cola style drink.

Tried Brio once when I used to drink pop. Its disgusting.

Yeah, took one look at it and thought, no. Then I read the post. Then I read the top line and I get the gist.
And I thought the KING OF BEERS was a step down. Tried a new hispanic beer, wasn't bad really all in Spanish. But not good. Whatever. downing 15 of this tonight. Lost 3 in a row gambling Modelo is off the boards for a bit. Love that stuff.
If I get back into Bombay, wow, three week bender with beer and two days of just basically sleep. Never puked though, interesting. With any drink or drug I just take it as far as I can. But the ride is fun. What can I say?
Not joking on that. Live within reason now. On with life, iron stomach.

yeah I had Brio once when I was like 12 at The Big Slice in Toronto (ever been there?), supposedly Pizza Pizza sells Brio, but my location dosnt, I ordered it once online from Pizza Pizza cause I remembered liking it, and then they called me 10 minutes later and said they dont have it, so I had to get Nestea

Boodles British Gin is adored for its herbs, juniper, lemon peel and rosemary flavor notes. This Gin is carefully distilled at Greenall's distillery, England. Based on 53 votes, the average rating for Boodles British Gin is 8.4/10. — Stronger gin than I am used to.

Yes! Keen to learn about making my own now that I have so much time at home. Shout of for Negroni if you like the strong Gin taste. First sip it can seem too strong, but once you've acclimatized it's great!

Well, interesting drinking life movie. I shouldn't find it funny but I am fucked up. But never to that extent. God, drinking and watching this is so stupid. I just laugh. God my life looks good besides watching this movie and women and drinking and drugging like that.
"But temptation eventually gets the best of Bill". Lol. "Gets a weird look in his eye".
Feeling good about my life and drinking and drugs.

Bombay the original is calling me again. But I know that dark road I will take if buy it. Just joking.
Drink responsibily or you be a mass murderer! But I have pills, well enjoy it! Can't recommend combos on the shroomery but I know what works for me. My only rule is, well I have many rules with common sense but no oxy's. Benzos, not so bad.
I rewatched that vid I posted and the actor/bartender looks like he is 30 something and has no clue in the world.
Yeah, no. Seriously I tried New Amsterdam Gin, middle shelf and was horrid. So I wholly endorse the original Bombay Sapphire. Just don't take shot's of Yaegar with it or drugs.
God the emo's. The M's. The fears. Know your body. OH YEAH! OH NO! That cracks me up.

On a wonderful bender. Why do people make one want to feel guilt about such? God, drink your way through Covid. This Summer is officially done and how many vacations and fun times did one have? It sucked. So on with Fall.
NO WORK AND ALL PLAY MAKES JACK feel actually ok. Really, what are people spending their money on? Reports say booze and drugs to pass the time. Well no shit.
The lost art of the bender. But God, there are so many beers in front of me. Social media. I have never watched or read so much in my life but no complaints as long as the booze flows.
https://drunkard.com/lost-art-of-the-bender/
Love this advice and use it.
4) Close the curtains and lock the door. Think of yourself as a vampire, sunlight and visitors are the bender’s natural enemies.
