Figueroa - The world as we know it

this is Amon Tobin's new pseudonym (he also releases his more hiphop-ish stuff as Two Fingers)

this is pretty new. released a week or 2 ago and an album should be out pretty soon.

great band with tons of great music. their last album came out in august 2019 and is full on thrash metal.

and this is from the album before that released april 2019

this one is using microtonal instruments.

i recomend paper mache dream balloon, mind fuzz, rats nest or nonagon infinuty for albums to start with

king gizzard is a very interesting band!
I listened to nonagon infinity and murder of the universe back then, and felt I couldn't keep up with the amount of stuff they were releasing.
it was all so concept heavy and musically complex I felt a bit intimidated, I'll have to check out the rest

murder of the universe os def hard to get into imo. I love the songs live but rarely listen to the album.

I recomend these albums

Gumboot soup

Mind fuzz

Paper mache dream balloon

Rats nest

Fishing for fishies

And all their kexp sessions on youtube. Their live songs are the best

Sonic Boom - All things being equal

I must have listened to this at least a dozen times and I keep getting surprised by the amount of layers and the way they're mixed. at times it sounds very dream pop and others gets kinda dub techno and ambient.
so hypnotic,
can't
stop
listening
:hypnotic:

Rad post dude.  Sonic Boom is so cool. He produces some really cool albums for other folks too.  I love Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized also with all my heart.

I havent listened to that album, I will check it out asap.

I bought this record (Healing is a Miracle) the other day, I love Julianna Barwick. Just looped out, voice driven, synthy ambient music.  Good shrooming music for me.

I produce my own music. It's nothing anyone would find interesting.

I think after i started producing i could no longer listen to new Artists but just good old already well established Musicians.

I remembered that Local H released the single "Innocents" late last year and completely forgot about the fact that they were releasing a new album.
Honestly can't believe that I've overlooked this as I love the band. They released the album in early April this year, I've only gotten around to listening to for the first time today.

Hope everyone has checked out Fleet Foxes new album.  Pleasantly surprised as I didn't know it was being released.  Great release for this time of the year.

Also the Flaming Lips new album American Head sounds like they're going back to their psychedelic acoustic sound.  The first track on the album.

appreciate the selection, man  I enjoyed that Space Deer album the most.
I used to follow that channel and two others (stoned meadow of doom and another with a very long and goofy name) but I got tired of trying to keep up listening to stoner/doom 24/7 :willynilly: there's really too much

Yeah. I donโ€™t mind a little stoner/doom here and there. But itโ€™s not usually my go to.

I think I would end up hating the whole genre if I tried to listen through it all without mixing it up.

New release from Frank Zappa!  It's a live album from 1981 but still new music release!

I'm more into Frank's 70's music but this live album is full of energy, funny as hell & top notch guitar/musicianship work.

I got some catching up to do on y'alls music!

If anyone here is a Microphones fan, Phil Elverum just released a new album under that moniker and it is just one ~40 minute song called Microphones in 2020.  It is really, really good.

The album the Glow Pt2 is one of my favorite albums ever.  He makes morose music but it's really transcendent stuff in my opinion

Discovered Youngr not too long ago, his last album Bootlegs has mostly remixes of other songs but there are some great ones like Nobody Knows - Autograf (Youngr Bootleg)

+1 on the Marilyn Manson album, listened through start to finish a few times

someone made a thread recommending this band called Lucid Planet.
I thought the first album was good, but sounded a bit too much like Tool and Porcupine Tree.
this second one has a much more unique sound imo. I'm digging it

it's also uploaded in full with trippy kaleido visuals

This album artwork looks amazing. I like the one on the right.

There is a new Marilyn Manson album that sucks.

There is soon going to be a new album from either Dead Can Dance or Brendan Perry. He already released a couple of new songs this year, both in a new style.

here's two great ambient finds.

one on the spaced out/chill side
Aril Brikha - Dance of a trillion stars

and on the epic/cinematic side of things
Thys & Amon Tobin - Ithaca

Okay so some of the best stuff released the past handful of months:

Jpegmafia dropped EP2 and it's fantastic

Promises by Floating Points and Pharoah Sanders.  Killer electroambient/neoclassical

Burial also released an EP with Blackdown called the ShockPower of Love EP, it's very good too.
Gonna edit this with more stuff when I get on a computer cuz this is a pain on my shitphone

The first track of that is doooope!  The second and third seemed to tame down a bit and I lost ta little interest.  Are any of the other tracks on that album similar to the first track?

keep listening! track 4 is thematically more like the first I'd say, and the 5th uses voice samples in a similar way
