Hi all,
Hope everyone is having a great day. I birthed my pf tek cake 6 days ago, golden teacher. I noticed today a slight blue hue on a part of the cake, could this be from fanning a bit hard which leads to evaporation at an unwanted rate? Or is this mould? Its very slight, but yeah ofcourse im worried haha.
Thank you:)

Hard to tell from the pictures but I would just let it ride and see what happens. I would have rolled the cake in vermiculite before putting it into the fruiting chamber though

Myc can bruise just like the fruit, so if you held the cake there after taking the cake out the jar it may have bruised.

I couldn't say, but if the bruising it subtle then it might that you've only just noticed it.

Ive been reading, and some people say if the cake is to dry it can bruise? So many variables to take into account haha.

Yeah they will bruise if they get too dry or if you handle them a lil roughly. Sometimes they bruise no matter what it seems like. I can’t see any bruising in that pic but if it’s that light it’s not a big deal and the cake looks good to me. What kind of FC are you using?

I didnt go full shotgun. But i have a couple of inch holes covered with micropore going around the container. Then misting 2 times daily, and fanning 4-6 times.
