White fuzzy Stuff

Ok, this is my first run ever with any kind of tek. so I really have no idea what's going on. I put my cakes into the terrarium after I dunked for 12 hours. The jars had just started to pin when I did that. Any ways, they have been in the terrarium for about 6-7 days now and i started noticing a white fuzz on the cakes about 3 maybe 4 days ago. I just left them and was going to throw out the cakes and clean out the terrarium because I thought the all six cakes that all that fuzzy stuff on them. But today I went to go throw them out and notice that there were mushrooms starting to grow on the and there where pins everywhere there wasn't the fuzzy stuff. I thought that mushrooms couldn't grow once the cake had been contaminated. Does that mean that the white fuzzy stuff isn't contaminated

fuzzy stuff is good! If its mycellium. All of my cakes have done that after a good dunk and pins always follow shortly. It is just the mycellium recovering from the dunk. You will most likely see alot of white fuzzy on the base of your mushrooms when they grow, this is also nothing to worry about because its just mycellium growing and I believe its caused by a high RH.
Do a search for the very same thing you are asking about, Im sure there are tons of pictures with people asking the very same questions.

Just mind about what's not white. It probably is mycelium but even if it isn't, there's not much you can do now.

Sure it's possible; It depends a lot on the degree of contamination and what type[s] of contams are present. Most of the time, a contaminated cake will not fruit as the contamination continues to proliferate and take over. Some of the time, a few misshapen fruits will result. Rarely, a couple really nice fruits pop out from the non-contaminated side. There are a lot of variables.

Certain strains like to fuzz up after getting dunked. Nothing to worry about.

no it doesnt - i dont know where you read that but the fuzziness is almost always a response to humidity
