Hello everyone. I been dealing with bacterial problems for a while, which made me feel slightly unconfidence about my results. please give me output about the next grain jar. It was inoculated with agar and the pictures were made 70hours after a shake. I want to use it for g2g.
There is one grain that seems funky to me, but I dont know if its bacteria or it was simply pressed over the glass. there is no yellow metabolites coming out from that grain. Please let me know what you think:)

Did it look the same before shaking?
I guess it wasn`t fully colonized before. If i think my master jar is ready for g2g, i shake it up fully colonized ( after 1 shake at ~20-50% ). I let it sit for 48 hours more now. If it won`t fully recover after that time, the master has to leave my house.
So your jar is visually not ready for g2g.

I took another picture of the same jar (and added it to the original post)

yes.
The jar was 98% colonized before I made that shake. Been 70 hours since shaking.

Did you use agar?
You can never know for sure just by looking at the jar but for what it's worth that looks like healthy mycelium. IME some bacterial mycelium, which I think can look and smell fine (and still fruit if you use a high enough spawn/sub ratio) has a thicker consistency almost like nougat.
I'm still not one hundred percent sure (certainly no expert) that it wasn't just another kind of perfectly okay cube mycelium I used to sometimes experience (mutispore) but although I used to succeed with that kind of (what I believed was bacterial) spawn it never used to look right to me (as it does in your jar there) and I always had the feeling that if my spawn/coir ratio hadn't been so high, contamination would have got there before my tubs colonized.
Agar, while not bulletproof when dropping the wedges in, does vastly decrease the chances of failure. Not really needed if your goal is just to grow a few cubes, and don't strive for perfection, but I can see why people like it! Fewer variables to worry about and less second-guessing oneself.
If you're doing mutispore all you can do is give it a shot, and hope for the best. If you have a meticulous sterile technique you will succeed more often than not. It's quite hard to fuck up growing cubes as long as you yourself are not a total fuck up!
Often a good idea to make trays with mutispore, so you don't have all your eggs in one basket, and like I already said when mixing grain and substrate together, aim to have the sub fully colonized as quickly as possible. Make as many projects as possible at once as well to compensate for any losses.
Still, just enjoy yourself, fruit it, and if it works great. If not, try again and if you're really worried/frustrated take up agar.

Yes, the updated pic looks better. The first pictures looked slighty unfinished.
But as wolf8312 said, you can`t tell from pictures or visually in general for sure. It may even smell good, especially after shaking. But as your jar recovered well after shaking, it`s a good sign.

Thank you for your time and comments!!! your help means alot. I been dealing with bacteria for such a long time and getting replies from you really help.
This jar was inoculated with agar. I decided to go further and do a g2g with it. Will keep you updated with the results:)
