It wasn't as good as the first. It was awful.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

A couple of times I "relapsed" and bought a pack, and then that first cigarette without tolerance almost made me puke. Just terrible, really awful, so bad that I always ended up throwing the rest of the pack away.

Congrats. It's a good choice to let them go. By the time I quit they just didn't taste as good as they used to. Moreover I hated paying for a product that was designed to fuck me. I thought it would be a lot harder to do but I just made the choice and walked away. Never had one since.

yeah, a few weeks without a cigarette and trying to smoke one is a guaranteed puke in my mouth moment

I still smoke. Unfortunately. But in 2020 I'm averaging somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 to 4 packs a month. The majority of cigarettes which are smoked on my typical 4 to 5 drinking days I have a month.
On sober days, I can go the whole day without a cigarette. Usually though I will smoke 1 per day on average -- and that's with my morning coffee. That morning coffee is a monumental hurdle for me. Other than that though I can get through the day pretty easily without another urge.
But on drinking days, forget about it. When I drink I usually work my way through a 12 pack and I'll smoke like half a pack in that one night alone.

Yeah man it feels like it's damn near impossible for me to not smoke at all if I'm drinking. I just think it's a package deal at this point
I used to smoke 3-4 packs a week for a long ass time so getting it down to 3-4 packs a month has been a major victory, but I really don't want to stop here. Feels like though I'd have to cut out drinking completely if I wanted to stop smoking entirely...and I still look forward to drinking too much
Honestly I could drink damn near every single day (and used to) but I force myself to keep it to once a week.

I'm at the point where I finish a pack and only buy a new one if I'm either drinking 2+ drinks at home on the weekend, or now if I go have a few beers outside at my local spot. But then I smoke like 1 or 2 cigs a day the rest of the week just because I have them and want to get out of the house.
If I didn't drink, I would never buy another pack. But the draw to leave the house and do something short term that I can't do inside is also compelling. Just taking a walk around the block without smoking a cigarette just doesn't have the same appeal for some reason.
I need a better replacement.

I can go all day without a smoke no prob and then just end up smoking at night because I’m bored. I’m pretty sure the acetocholine in your brain resets every night that’s why the first cig of the day always hits you, it’s like your brain heals from nicotine addiction every night. It’s something else in it that gets u. Chew on the other hand I couldn’t go without when I did use it

No way. You're just following the path you've carved and making it deeper. The rush in the morning is from your body and mind healing and then you sacrifice that aspect of health to go deeper into the habit.
I was quit for a few months. Smoked one pack of American Spirits in about 2 weeks and not only craved smokes for days after the fact but craved other substances too. Mainly stims. And I don't even like speed.... fuck cigs.

It takes months if not years to fully reprogram your brain. 3 weeks to create new nueronal connections. Months and years to carve deep into the new path. We didn't become smokers overnight.

Yeah, I used the same metric when I quit. I wonder how long you had to have smoked to be considered into those statisics though...
I smoked about one pack per day for about three years and quit. Since then, I've had maybe four random cigarettes.
I hope at that twenty year mark I'll actually have healed all the damage I did to myself for smoking.

I never smoked heavy until my 20's, did it some when I was 14 and got real sick off them one night, then didn't touch them until speeding one night in my 20's. Been on and off for me since. I'll quit for a few years, one year, a few months, but go back. Haven't smoked since Saturday.

I used a Juul most of last summer but quit when I started feeling addicted to it.
After that I was getting found of using nicotine pouches when studying or reading. However, I would not consistently feel more focused, which was the whole reason I was using them.
Sometimes I feel like trying nicotine lozenges for studying, but figure it won't be much difference then the pouches. I don't feel like nicotine is a useful substance for me anymore. However, My girlfriend thinks I look sexy when I smoke, so usually on Halloween i'll indulge her have one, but its not very enjoyable.
I was a Marlboro Black (Reds) smoker before I quit, but maybe next time I have one I'll try some kind of menthol because I loved mint Juul pods so much.

I've been edging towards quitting myself lately-- I only smoke on breaks at work, or when I take a walk at home when I'm off. Never ever in my lady's presence. Can go days without. Average a pack a week or so.
When I was still able to experience DMT/Aya before I was locked out a few months ago I LOVED smoking while the trip was on-- but I can't feel anything from DMT anymore, so that's gone. I'm nearing the end of the smoking train anyway-- need to take better care once you tap the 40's.
Good luck staying away from it, everyone--

Haven't touched a cigarette in 19 years. Never desire one. Swore off all tobacco for a long time. More recently I know people who enjoy cigars in leisure and I'll join them. Interesting flavor and I can feel some effect from the it as well. However, I never have a craving for it.
