Little update.

First , the bad:
I keept one of those MZ jars aside to see what happened after I shook them dry ass grains. It was kind of amazing, in that all the myc straight up died. I have never seen this before:

Now, the good-ish.
4 of those RW oat jars are at 100%, and have been for some time. They look okay. 4 more look bacterial. I'm probably going to spawn them anyway, as my chief interest here is learning, and right now I've got minimal shoebox tubs in use so they wont be taking up space. If they trich out then at least I'll know to not bother when they look the same way in the future.

And the good, those oats and rye I nocced up on the 26th have leapoff, the oats dont look too wet and the rye doesnt look dry. I'll probably load the oats way drier next time, and try soaking the rye.

Some of the PESA half-quarts are doing quite well:

One of them is actually at 100%

I'll spawn them soon.

I havent made any definate plans to nocc up any grain further this weekend, but considering I dont have the innoculant, this weekend is going to be dedicated to expanding my agar cultures.

We will get through this

Only hope can give rise to the emotion we call despair. But it is nearly impossible for a man to try to live without hope, so I guess that leaves Man no choice but to walk around with despair as his companion.

Update on that batch that was prepped and inoculated 2 weeks ago.

Some random samples:

As you can see, theres leapoff but still woefully behind. As per mushboy's recommendation I delayed shaking till now just in case any contamination germinated for easy diagnosis.

I'm prepping another batch of grains tomorrow according to the advice here.

I'm happier with my rye prep and have actually got some of my PESA Rye spawn colonising a shoebox nicely. Considering those only took 5 weeks to colonise 100%  Some of that batch of those rye jars of that batch are still not 100%.
