Ganoderma sinense pinning before 100% colonization
    #26855427 - 07/31/20 12:07 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Hi all, I have some Ganoderma sinense in jars that are pinning up against the lid. The jars are about 85%-90% colonized. Should I put these into fruiting conditions or wait for 100%?

The sub in the jar is supplemented sawdust.

I know nothing about this species. But pinning before 100% colonization is usually due to a bacteria contamination. If they are wanting to fruit I say let them fruit. They are trying to fruit so they can drop spores before they are taken over by the bacteria.

If it's fruiting, let it fruit.

I'd probably just let it keep fruiting out the hole where it is.

Ganoderma usually doesn't care much about bacteria, but you probably don't want to expose the substrate and risk mold.

Have some medicinal mushrooms and want to get the most out of them?  Try this double extraction method.
