Confusion about whether spawn bags should be kept in darkness or not

He there, I am just getting started with growing sclerotia of the Psilocybin Mexicana. The forum has been of great help to me and I want to thank all of you who have shared their knowledge! The growth process has been explained extensively and I feel confident about growing my first bag of magic truffles. However, I still have an unanswered question about whether the spawn bags should be kept in darkness or not. While most of the posts on the forum tell me that it is best not to keep the bags in darkness, a video by VICE in 2012 covering a sclerotia farm in The Netherlands says otherwise (growth process at 12:50). In the video they talk about the spawn bags being kept in complete darkness after colonization for the sclerotia to form.
I can only assume that the farmers in the video are experts on growing sclerotia and therefore I would like to follow their growth process. However, since most of the post on the forum (note: mostly relating to growing mushrooms instead of sclerotia) say that complete darkness after colonization is not beneficial I am not sure what to do. Can someone please help me out by sharing their experience and/or knowledge on this subject?

I dont think these 2 gentlemen are being 100% honest of their trade secrets. It would make sense for them to confuse would be competition since theyu have a monopoly. For instance it's clear the bags are not just rye grass it looks to be 50% rgs and 50% millet or something.
And what is with the spawn baghs of verm wtf are they doing with that with truffles?

Thanks for pointing that out! It does indeed make sense for them to not be 100% accurate/honest. Also, I did not notice the substrate was made up of two ingredients before reading your reply.
Anyhow, if I understood your reply correctly, you think that it is better to leave the spawn bags in a light environment?
EDIT: I am not sure what you mean by 'bags of verm' could you please explain that to me?

On the shelf when they walk in are some spawn bags of what looks like plain vermiculite which shouldnt have much place on sclerotia except casing to grow fruits, which is illegal as far as I know.
Man I am no expert on stones, they mock me every time I try to grow them. Check out the scerotia producer thread and ask those guys I bet they know for sure.

K.. never saw that vid but it was interesting.. just the sight of truffles kind of creeps me out, how is the texture? are they hard or spongy like mushrooms?

They have a weird consistency, like really thick stem butts kinda. Then they dry hard as rocks.
I never did any kind of comparisons but I grew a bunch of stones just in ambient light. For the actives I know about light is fine at all stages from inoculation to harvest.
