No I did not case it because it is my first stone grow I could not help my curiosity I wanted to see how the mycelium differed from cubes. And I have no idea, it really is like the stone put out alien roots o.o

It kinda looks like the root things are mushroom material.
That myc is much thicker than I’ve had, but I’ve only done two grows so far. Both of mine the mycelium was so thin it was almost hard to see.

Mine was SUPER thin in the big grain jars but the accidental pf jars I made pushed out big stones and this shoebox is made from the pf cakes. (The myc in the pf jars were super strong  )

Idk but I think those jars might be off, usually after months there’s tons of stones.
I say pop one open and check it out/spawn it.

I took your advice and popped one open. As you suspected there were no truffles, however the spawn seemed just fine, smelled of mush with no signs of any contamination I could perceive.
We shall see how it fruits.
The jars have only been sitting for 2 months, which imo is a fairly short time span for truffles

Looks fine to me, i bet there are at least some truffles in there based on the color

I have the idea that I can fill many more bags and use less space than I can with tubs and store them away in the dark for several months and get a mass of stones.

Mainly because I personally find it easier to spawn to substrate in a timely matter. If I use all grain then I'll have to spend way more hours preparing the grains because I'm limited to only 2 16qt PC's, where as I can pasteurize way more spawn in a couple of hours with steam using the 2 16qt PC's using this method

Well for me, because this culture doesnt produce fruits and I need totes for othe projects I wanted to test it to see if I can still get the decent returns from spawning to bulk, albeit an invitro grow, Maybe it wouldnt have to be that if I left some of the bag open.

So this will be interesting and I will expand to grains only, in the dark and in a jar at some point. As you can see ive made the bags so that the sub is 2" thick as i have allays had good results with this. 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 spawn to coir.
