Garage GrowRoom Plan

Hey Shroomery,
I'm thinking of planning to build a grow room in my garage just for fruiting monotubs. The main worry about this plan is the temperature fluctuation, and was wondering if the air buffer between the two plastic sheets would be enough to hold a steady temperature. (I live in the hottest/ driest regions in the country, the southwest)
The plan is to store around 100 - 54qt tubs (about 24 tubs per row) with a portable AC inside, as well as an oscillating ceiling fan. And an oil filled radiant heater in the winter.
Designed to scale - 12 x 12' x 8' height
Do you guys think this will work?

I'd think about insulating the garage if its not already. Also keep in mind any a/c is also going to be a dehumidifier so I'd think about having the ability to re-add moisture. Other than that I'll just leave this here incase its of any interest.

Have you monitored the temp of your garage yet? I think you're gonna run into issues with just plastic sheeting trying to hold in the AC. You would be better off putting rigid foam insulation around the entire structure including the floor.
Seal up every nook and crevice then run a ducted fan to bring in fresh air from outside. You might need some kind of exhaust too if you sealed it up too well. Run the AC exhaust all the way outside or you'll just be adding to the heat in the garage.

That is going to be way tighter in there between the shelves than you imagine.
You don't even have enough room between the shelves to slide a monotub out or in bro how is this going to work crammed full???
Lose a shelf row or increase space between shelves considerably making overall room bigger.
Where is the door?

Thanks for the reply,
I was hoping i didn't need to redo the entire Garage insulation, and thought maybe the indoor tent would suffice. But It definitely would make controlling the temperature easier, as well as saving energy.
And true, I should use a humidifier to balance to RH. I just found a Humidity outlet controller as well as a temperature outlet control. We'll see how well these works.

I haven't been able to get an accurate reading on the temperatures yet, but im guessing somewhere between 80-95 in the daytime in the past week. Still waiting on my additional thermometer orders.
Yeah, i assumed the plastic sheeting would not be enough, if i use the traditional foam insulation, would i need to place drywall on both sides? Or would plastic sheeting be enough?
Ill definitely be using an extended exhaust hose that'll be attached to an extra dryer vent hole.

You right, Based on the current shelf size it'll only leave me with 15.6 inches of space between each row. A 54qt is at least 16" width / 23" length.
If i bring down the shelf width from 24 to 23, would give me 19.2 inches in between the rows. But still might be a tight fit, barely fitting the tubs on the shelves.
As for the door, i was thinking of either attaching a hinged custom door in one of the frame opening, or using velcro to attach the plastic (but worried it might not seal correctly).

I *think* you would be ok with just the rigid foam since it is inside the garage but you might have to make adjustments as you go along. I would be careful about anything that can hold moisture if you plan to introduce humidity into the structure.
If you cut the rigid foam slightly smaller than the spaces they fill - you can use expanding foam to really seal it in tight
