To Shake or Not to Shake

I already shook these once early one (and maybe shouldn’t have). Shake again? Ten days in total.

I don't have much expertise to offer, as I just recently inoculated my first grain jars with agar.
But based on what I read from trusted sources on here, I think it's good practice to wait until about 75% colonization and then shake once.
That's the rule I'll be going by with my jars. They're probably at about 10% right now, so I'll be letting them sit for several more days before shaking.

Well shit, good to know lol
Maybe I gave wrong advice, sorry about that.
For quart jars, how many times would you say you shake from inoculation to spawn?

When you say once early on, do you mean directly after inoculation? And agar inoculation or MS?
Patience mon wait it out for another week/week and a half to see what progress has been made - shaking it now won't help fight bacterial or other fungal contams that may have slipped in if that's what you're worried about. It isn't super obvious from the picture, but I might get another batch cooking up now incase this batch is a flop.
Some things to keep in mind: 1. Temperature these bags are incubating in - you'll want to aim between 72-80 F. Anything outside of this range can slow your grow on the cooler side, or invite contams on the higher side. 2. Clean it up on agar if your current grows are going from MS to grain directly. 3. Put a GE filter on the bag if one isn't already in place. You may already have some, just don't see any visible in the pics you provided

I use quart jars as masters that i expand furthur. I usually shake them 2-3 times before theyre ready to expand. They take about 2-3 weeks from wedge and about 2 weeks give or take from g2g. My grain bags (1 gal) take about 2 weeks to finish from g2g via master jar.

I used agar that I cleaned up four to five times to inoculate the bags after I PC’d the rye bags. I’m really sorry it’s hard to get clear pictures through the bags but they are moving along and look healthy so far.
