Houston we have a porblem. 1

Aloha and buenos nachos my fungal friends.
I recently moved into a new grow space and have started doing my thing. My first fruits are coming up and I believe I have made a fucky wucky.

This is not what I was expecting from my proven AND clean LC that I have used prior to this in previous grows. The size, stature and the caps are all off.
What could cause them to grow like this?
Growing parameters are as follows: CLEAN (Agar tested) LC. inoculated oats, aggressive mycelium with no signs of contamination. Spawned 4 FULL quarts to just under a full brick of properly hydrated and field capacity tested cvg. Two cups of fine vermiculite and two cups of gypsum per brick. First time adding gypsum. Substrate done using boiling water in cooler.
Area is a basement. A constant minimum of 75% RH, temperature held steady at 70f by use of oil heaters. Lit with 4x4 foot 6500k T8 bulbs
Pastywhyte style easy dial monotubs.
Misted possibly far too much given the high RH is one possibility. Substrate may now be too wet.
The other possibity is temperature. Air is 70f and the substrate does create heat but it is sitting on the concrete slab as I have yet to build shelving for all 48 monotubs.
If any TCs can chime in before the other 47 reach fruiting I an all rears

In my personal experience stunted fruits are usually caused by saturated subs. Only mist if the surface of the myc is void of water droplets and only mist enough to form droplets. You dont want any pooling.
The temps aren't that bad my grow room regularly gets to the low to mid 60s in the winter without any significant issues other than more time.
2 cups of gypsum is a shit ton of gypsum and honestly I haven't noticed any real benefit to using it. Certainly doesnt make fruits larger or increase yield, ime.

Gracias, yeah I dial back the gypsum to a cup per 1.25kg now so the rest of the monotubs are good.
Saturation sounds right so here is my question. How the balls am I going to alleviate this problem without just drying out the top? If I had a way to get the subs out I would lay them back in the tub atop bone dry coir to leech water out but as such I cannot.
Just hope that the first flush sucks up enough water to allow for a normal second?

Anyone got any tips or tricks on how to alleviate this issue? Never run into it with any previous grows but in those grows I was not misting with a four gallon backpack sprayer either.

Is it just the one mono that has the issue or all 48?
Use a razor to cut some patches of the bottom of the mono tub away so you could set the whole mono on a surface covered in dry coir? Like checker board style box cutouts, but maybe larger squares so it’s not so tedious
Sorry if I’m misunderstanding, just spitballing. I wouldn’t suggest doing this to 48 monos lol, only if it’s the single mono being effected

I have the same issue with my tub, the pros suggested oversatured substrate aswell: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26832063 I think there is nothing you can do with the current ones, but i did pop open the lid for a couple of days and fanned every now an then which increased the size and delayed the cap opening for developing pins. But again this is my first grow so im still as noob as it gets

Bro this is no help but you have 48 MONOTUBS? That’s sounds like a ton of work. Would love to see a pic of that lol... that would fill half my bedroom to the ceiling I bet

This is the first to begin fruiting. I assume the others will experience this issue as conditions are the same. They are all 86qt monotubs.
I suppose I will chalk it up to learning and monitor progress. I have oodles of spawn to make new tubs but right now all my tubs are in use.

Gotcha. Another option is to take the lids off and throw a fan in the room. Seems more reasonable than butchering 48 totes lol

No doubt eh. I put a fan blowing over them all uncoveree last night, gave em 12 hours. Truly worried I am going to dry out the surface only or turn the pins/knots in the other tubs into jerky.
Ixnay on butchering the totes these ones are epic, huge surface area compared to my sterlites
Will give em another 12 hour fan tonight. Lettuce pray.

🙏 best of luck bud. I would say maybe tape a bag of desiccant (damprid or something) inside each tote, but that seems rather tedious and I doubt it would have any effect on an over saturated sub. I feel like that would just wick moisture off the surface as well

It seems like your RH is too high. You could try a dehumidifer and some buckets of Damp Rid to bring it closer to 50%.

Thanks man it did work out.
There was a problem with a thermostat but once I got that solved and got the temperature stabilized at 68 and introduced a mess of fans into the mix it seems to have solved things. I keep the RH above 70% at all times.
There is a very slight fuzz to the feet as you can see which indicates FAE could further be increased but for all that it matters this is good enough.

Over that now but yeah, I ended up purchasing 82 of the 86qt tubs.
