Being that I just read this entirely wonderful thread, and this is my first post, it's only fitting to bump it.

Hey Ya'all,

Long time Deadhead, Burner here,  that grew up on Venice Beach as a teenager in the 60's.
So's Iz got's quite a few stories to tell. I read that I should post in the "Pub" section to introduce myself (well, I guess I already done that )
So, should I just post my stories on this Thumbprint thread OR start a new one ???

I'm So glad I found this site,
Much Love, Kumquat

Yeah, this thread is a classic.  This & mush cult in general really sold me on this forum.  As for your question - seeing as this thread has a few different members’ thumbprint trip reports I’d assume it’s safe to write out your own experiences here as well -Not that making another thread would be against the rules or anything.  It’s up to you really.

It's kind of crazy comparing what the LSD scene used to be like, to nowadays when you can just hop on your computer and have as much pure crystal shipped to you as you can afford.

i really appreciate the universal perspective on this original post i imagine a psychedelic trip this strong would be like going to heaven and returning or meditating on a gram of mushrooms during the peak without any interruptions and coming back down knowing you are fine and who you are & acknowledging the things you learned in the trip while bringing those lessons back maybe the perception of being able to focus on what the cognitive thoughts are saying and what the closed eye visuals would be trying to communicate through messages or exploration to find by oneself safe at home with the invisible cosmic tether connecting each and every one of us in a spiritual supernatural way I like reading this post in the perspective of basically devoting an evening and night to therapeutically seeking more answers and puzzle pieces to enhance and progress the path to enlightenment

If you're asking if Chinacat is still around, he hasn't been here for many years now. Many believe that he has passed on. His health wasn't the best.

Other confirmed large dose cases ended the normal 12 hours later. only Chinacat says it lasts a week.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1129381/

Massive doses make the trip more intense, they don't make it longer. Its a basic fact of LSD that people here seem willing to ignore because of this fairy tale. If someone said they ate a pound of shrooms and it lasted 5 days everyone would laugh.

Now when people have two vastly different lsd trips its of course the different crystal types and not the commen sense different sized doses, or set/setting. A few years ago people having bad trips blamed the low grade cystal, if only the person selling it to them had called it needlepoint.

Whole thing was a crock of shit that caused bad info to become part of LSD lore

Just one of several obvious major flaws in the tale.

But geez it's a great urban legend and it's written so wax lyrical with esoteric connotations and spiritual flights of fancy. People just want to believe.

There's other people on this site who have taken this sort of dose and don't make out anything like the wondrous tale from ChinaCat. Well done dude, if you can still read this, your memory will live on, even if it is hogwash.

I'm not speaking for or against because I'm not sufficiently informed and I believe there is a place for legend and lore.

I'd like to however point out two things:

1) if you take a trip, especially a very heavy trip, it is possible that the trip lasts longer by hours or days than it should. This is what is called a prolonged reaction and is a form of drug psychosis. This of course is not good.

2) nobody, never ever EVER, should take a so called "thumbprint dose" for the same reason that no one ever EVER should down a fifth of vodka in one gulp. Its bad for you and it will kill LSD for you. Any way you twist it, taking 100 doses in one greedy gulp is drug abuse - you are doing it wrong if you do it like that. LSD abuse is as real as vibrator abuse. It says nothing about the substance but everything about the one wielding it. Anything can be abused if you go about it irresponsibly enough.

It has always been a source of great concern for me that the "thumbprint" saga is inevitably causing people to do it for real in real life.
That's unacceptable to me from a harm reduction standpoint.

Please don't. Your elders did stupid stuff with drugs which got them illegalized for 50 years and landed people on the psych ward for 50 years. Be wiser than them.
