Selling colonized bags

Has anyone encountered needing to tax these for any reason? They are the equivalent of selling say a potted tomato plant. But laws and regs are sometimes different area to area.. So I am curious if anyone has ever encountered any tax issues or anything with these? I am about to start selling them myself. Any weird terminology I may need to look out for?

It would be taxed according to your state law. As far as I know almost everyting is taxable. Many states are going after internet/ mail order sales also now. Gotta have that money.

right but most of the time that I have seen farm fresh food is always not taxed.. and I think food plants are usually not either for the same reason fresh food usually isn't. I know I don't tax the mushrooms at all for example.
Does anyone ever collect taxes for the colonized bags? If so what legal terminology is used? I want to make sure I am not missing anything when I look up my local laws.
By all accounts so far that I have looked up for my state from our local tax department I would not tax them.. just trying to make sure I am not missing something because of terminology. For example if I call it a "Kit"...

Contact someone that does taxes they will be able to give you better information than you will get here. Any info you get here about tax or legal issues I would second guess anyway.

right. I was just figuring the people here would know of any odd terminology I needed to watch out for maybe even quicker than government people.. at least that has been my experience calling governmental people about mushrooms.. Which way is up anyways...
