When using a MSS, how many CCs do you inject into the bag?

What methods would be suggested for the bag spawn but transferring agar into the grain? After sterilizing, would I just re-open my grain bag and drop in my diced agar pieces, then reseal with my heat press in a SAB? My bags have an exchange filter but not injection ports.

Havnt tried agar to bags without a flowhood. Possible to try in sab but probably cumbersome and risky.

Hey   This seems too good to be true.  A couple of questions:  Why cant you just order straight white millet birdseed and use that instead of filtering? Is That fine to use?  Also, why the pillow case?

Thanks!

I’m also wondering why the pillow case and if you can do it without? Regardless I’m grabbing some white millet on my way to work. Thanks!

Amazing write up.  Curious if the tape is a potential source of contamination?  I'm going to try this though!

Today's bags probably don't require using a pillow case. Depends on your stock I suppose. Ideally the pillow case was to protect the bags from hot spots while sterilizing. Sometimes bags would expand some inside and touch the pc'r causing some parts of bags to go brown, burnt or brittle.

The filtering is to remove, dust, dirt and crummy stuff. Just to help with clumping later down the road. All those fine particles just become sludgy faster than the millet does.

Ymmv. Works for me and you could always add your own variance and see what happens.

Thank you so much for taking your time to put all this time together. I have a question...if, for example, I only want to do one bag or one jar at a time, do I need to adjust my pressure cooking times? Instead of 90 minutes should I do say 45 or something? Thank you again.
