Help this newb to 2nd flush success ๐๐พ

I'm a new grower using SFF Shoebox Tek using rye grain spawn and have had a couple pretty successful (for me) shoeboxes now getting between 15-30g dry per quart for the first flush.
The second flushes have always been an utter failure. I'm soaking for 3-4h after harvesting using Bod's method and yet I end up getting just a handful (less than 10) mushrooms on the second flush. What am I doing wrong? How do people get big 2nd (and 3rd and...) flushes?
ShaperDreaming's Tek says just soak and close the lid until the next flush/harvest, which is what I'm doing but it doesn't seem to work for me. I know it must be something I'm doing but I have no idea what it is.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks shroomers

Iโve been growing for a little bit now and have trouble getting good second and consequent flushes as well. Figured Iโd give a bump. I always have had great first flush canopyโs but idk. Letโs see a picture.

When you say failure do you mean contams or just low yield?
Many of the experienced growers here try to 1 and done these days, rather than going for multiple flushes. Meaning one giant flush then move on to something better. 1st flush on a new tub is almost always gonna outperform 2nd flush on the old tub, so you get much better use of your space w 1 and done
Also If you get an insane first flush (like the 3495g flush in my sig), its definitely not worth trying for another flush. You might get one, but the sub is mostly exhausted and not a great use of space vs a new tub
Many people shoot for between 1-2 dry oz per qt of spawn used, but it can be more or less. For some people that will be 1 flush, others itll be 6

Do people really not aim for multiple flushes? Didnโt realize that. I mean if space wasnโt an issue, whatโs procedure would you use after you harvest your first flush?

You dunk or mist substrate to rehydrate it. Then fruit again.

I toss after the first flush also. If you are getting a solid first flush it isn't really worth keeping around taking up space.
But if you have the space! 3 hour soak or a heavy misting. You can also bottom water a little at a time and see what soaks up.

If im doing multiple flushes i either just mist and let em roll after harvest or soak 30 mins to 1hr. More than that and the sub can get really soggy and fall apart, especially if its already spent and soft. I guess it kinda depends on the condition of your sub. You just wanna keep it hydrated
You could probably get 10 flushes if you had clean spawn , maintained moisture/conditions, and got terrible yields each time (didnt burn through the substrate in 1 or 2 good flushes)
