Setting up for the third flush
    #26849993 - 07/28/20 01:59 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

So I have 3 shoeboxes. 1:1 spawn to coir ratio. After the first flush I dunked the cakes for 3 hours. The second flush came and went, harvested yesterday. The substrate is still really moist, like well above field capacity, but there is no standing water in the boxes. To initiate the 3rd flush do I dunk again or should I just let them ride? Im not too concerned with a big third flush as I have 6 jars going to substrate this week. But I would like to make sure the boxes have given their full potential before I put the out to pasture. Which brings me to my next point.

I want to have a designated toss patch for substrates, with cubensis is the straw and manure in an outdoor patch necessary or bring better results? If I simply toss the substrates in the hole and cover them with dirt will they react?

I’m using BRF cakes and dunked for 12 hours after the first flush. Just harvested the second flush this morning and it felt heavy still. Similarly to you I’m not expecting much of a 3rd flush so I just gave it a heavy mist and tossed it back into the FC.

I also mixed some bacterial jars with leftover coir and tossed it outside, probably should have dug a hole though, bugs are just havin a feast on it
