im currently looking at a 24"x24"x11.5" novair 2000 hepa filter, and a 12" inline duct fan at 1060 cfm. are these compatible for me to build a box? i am not good at the math required to find out. ill be using a standard 1" air filter as a pre filter. any help is much appreciated!!!

What is the filter inside the novair scrubber?
Are you trying to utilize the whole scrubber? I dont really know how negative air machine thing works exactly but you probably can't convert it to a hood.

i haven't purchased anything yet. this is the filter and fan im looking at. ill need to buy wood to make my box with... im just trying to make sure the fan is strong enough for the filters size... since i need at min 100 ft per minute of air speed for proper clean air flow. this is what i have read ...

OK that filter has a pressure of 0.8" at 1000 cfm.
You want 400 cfm t come out of the filter for a 24x24, lower cfm = lower SP so the SP will be around and about only ~0.3" at 400 cfm.
+ 0.2" SP for prefilter = 400 cfm @ 0.5" SP needed approximately
Now there is no data graph of the blowers air output at 0.5" SP but I think it will handle it pretty close to fine.

you seem to know your math, however i have no clue what any of that ment... lol sorry i truly am horrible im math. however when you say it seems fine, im hesitant. i just want to be positive before i spend any money... i want it to work perfectly ... cant risk contamination! lol should i look for a stronger fan? or slightly smaller filter?

For the math: 4 square feet means you want 400 cfm for 100 fpm linear/laminar airflow. ~100 fpm is considered standard laminar air flow.
I can not be "100% sure" since your fan choice has no data about how much air it blows at any particular static pressure. Most of those types of fans dont have air data.
But the fan info says 1060 cfm at free air. Fans lose cfm fast at higher static pressure. I would estimate that it will almost definitely push around 400 cfm at 0.5" static pressure. If that 12" fan doesnt do it another more high quality one may. I think I have seen one of these can type fans that had air data around the web once.

In the comments people say they use a 1TDT8 with that filter with success.
