Red five finger fungi
    #26849308 - 07/28/20 06:12 AM (3 years, 5 months ago)

Howdy crew,

Found this interesting fella while sub hunting today.

Can anyone tell me what it is?

BTW I think I did find one lovely little sub, just waiting on a spore print to be sure:

I think the red one is Aseroe rubra. Cool find!

I’ve never seen a hot Cheeto in wild. They are critically endangered.

The stinkhorn is probably Pseudocolus fusiformis. Looks like Psilocybe subaeruginosa too. Better pictures and a spore print would help. Did the potential sub bruise blue?

That is a Psilocybe subaeruginosa,  I see some bluish bruising on the stipe, the red one is a stink horn but I don't know what species are present in your area of the world

This was found in wood chips by the roadside in Blue Mountains NSW Australia.

Here are some more photos:

I'll have to take a sniff when I'm there next..

Yep the subaeruginosa bruised blue

Nice to know the sub season isn't quite over here yet.  I hadn't found anything in my usual spots for a while - maybe I just need to find more spots!

There were several flies on it - apparently attracted to it, and it has that deep hole in the bottom. I’m wondering if it is carnivorous.
