I found a few of these mushrooms in my friends yard. I think that it is panaeolus cinctulus, but I am not sure. Please let me know what you all think.

I thought the same thing initially, however, I thought it could be cinctulus after taking the spore print and seeing that the spores are jet black instead of purple or brown, and looking at how the stem is twisty instead of straight. I am not saying you are wrong, I am also far from an expert.

This thread was moved from The Pub.
Reason: Proper forum here. Definitely from the Panaeolous genus.

Even If It Is Panaeolus Cinctulus, You'd Need Way More To Get An Effect.

It's Panaeolus, but whether or not this is cinctulus I can't say.

Yes, I was hoping to do a small cultivation if it was P. Cinctulus to give my father his first trip. Based on the fact that I am located in Utah and cinctulus are rare in Utah, I will likely just order a golden teacher or penis envy spore syringe to be 100% sure of what I am ingesting.

Yeah, I Was Going To Say You'd Be Better Off Ordering A Syringe & Cultivating Cubes Using The Pf-Tek Or Uncle Bens Tek. Those Are The Best Beginner Teks In My Opinion.

I think these are cincts. Many people dismiss cincts like these because the stem is too thin or sth, but look at the color shift on the base of the stem. From my experience the stem can vary, but that color shift remains.
