Yet Another Newbie Question on Black Growth

Hello,
First apologies for yet another topic. All my searches seemed to not cover my particular issue, though if I missed a good write up, please link me! I did check out this link, and I think maybe I have sour rot going, but I am still totally unsure.
I inoculated six jars about a month ago. Nothing grew at all for several weeks, then just last week I had some white patches forming in one jar. I gave the other five a shake, and two days later the white patchy jar had a lot more white patches, and two other jars started getting their own.
In the other two jars, I notice it looks more grey than white. Then, I pulled one jar from the box where the six jars are sitting and rowing in because I noticed a distinct black patch. I know contaminants are usually black and green, but is this remotely okay or should I boil the jar and toss the contents?
The first two really show off the grey growth, and the third shows the black patch.

Any idea what I did wrong? One factor is I inoculated the jars with a spore syringe that was about one year to one and half years old. I kept it in a dark drawer in the fridge, but I bet that that is why three of the jars didn't colonize at all. A friend who got a batch of the same spores said he never did anything after like five or six weeks. Tangentially, is it a good idea to get a mushroom testing kit or something?

That's why we all go for agar first. If the syringe isn't clean, it won't work. Use the search engine and learn agar. It's not a good idea to get a testing kit. Toss content outside, no need to pc.

Thanks for the prompt reply! So, if I am buying a spore syringe, I should convert that to agar? This is my first ever grow, and I tried the PF Tek on YouTube, but I also used other supplemental materials where the video left gaps.
If you have time, here are my other two jars that are showing some life. Are these closer to what I am looking for?
Jar 1

Jar 2

Thank you again!

Ahh, dang! So, was it bad syringes, bad processes, combo of both, or impossible to tell? As I mentioned, my spores were about a year old, and they seemed to be of poorer quality.
I thought the first jar at least was the correct color and everything. Is that the cotton ball mold from the FAQ, and the second and black patch jars were Sour Rot?
I have some more spore syringes coming in soon, so I guess I'll make it my goal to learn how to do the agar method and growing from that then! Thanks for the directions and information.

Thank you for the response! I have some new ones coming from a pretty trustworthy source, and I plan to not delay at all on this batch, though I wonder how much of it was waiting and how much it was bad all around.
Would it be wise to try the PF Tek again and learn that way or should I try something net new? I was thinking of learning how to save the spores to agar like Goatrider mentioned and then growing that way. I just want to get at least one grow so that I can create more prints/cultures for myself.

Hello,
So, I left this jar a bit longer mostly to see his it was going to grow even if I tossed it. How does this look? Is this the type of growth I wanted with a clean cake?

I'm treating this more of a learning experience since mold is generally bad, but would I be able to birth this without the mold?

For experience or experiment you can grow it invitro. Just put a ziploc with some holes on top of the jar, and see what you get. Don`t know if you get something out, cause it seems you really had a very bad syringe.

I'm totally down for the experience. I wasn't planting to consume anything should mold grow, but I wanted to see if it was possible. Would a sport print be useless to?
