Decent 2nd flush shoebox of galindoi. This is my best stone producing culture.
Here is what the first flush looked like
First flush was in jcms pan chamber, 2nd flush my normal shoebox on shelf way
I had already harvested 100g of truffles before making this SB

Sooo, I have been interested in growing a stone producer, like a Mexicana, but I wanted to get my cube grows right first. I have a very tomentose LGT culture growing, and I had some jars that I left colonized for way too long, but maybe I'm retarded but do these look like stones in these two jars? The left pic has what looks like a stone growing under the oval line on the jar the right one is the spot just to the left of the bottom of the vertical line on the glass. I have seen a bunch of pictures that look similar that people have confirmed as stones, but I have no idea what to look for.

Yuppers. I went spore print, to agar, to LC, to oats. I've seen absolutely no rizo on any of the cultures, but the tomentose fuzz has spread everywhere.

The stones are supposed to be more potent the longer they sit in the jars. I have never just let one sit mostly because I was always trying to mainly fruit them.

I was waiting to see if I got any fruits from the shoeboxes I spawned from the same culture before going to the effort of spawning the last two jars, it's my first LC experiment, so I'm not sure I did everything right, not seeing any rhizomorphic growth, even on a transfer plate, and these were colonizing slower so I let them sit for another month mostly because I've been lazy and partly because I've been busy. If these grow stones, I've got another LC going from the same culture, and an untouched plate that's almost fully colonized with more tomentose growth, and I'll just start growing a bunch of stones instead because they are super easy this way.

Hard to get good pictures of the transfer plate bcuz it's pretty much fully colonized with tomentose, but here's the best I can do on short notice, and all my plates have serial numbers so I have to edit them. If you want to see all of my pics I have a folder of agar pics on my profile from when the original plate was started.

Oh I'm definitely confused, you may or may not be. It's my understanding that cubes can grow stones, but not prolifically, and usually it takes a really long time. Hence my confusion here. I got the spores in a trade 3 years ago, and they are supposed to be LGT, and others who got prints from the same guy grew LGTs. Maybe I got the wrong print, maybe this isn't actually growing stones, maybe I managed to make some sort of mutant Lucistic golden teacher that's producing sclerotia.
I have no idea, and so I ask the experts.

No. Cubes do not grow stones ever under any circumstances. Only Mexicana or Tamps do it--

Bro_exotic....like coAsTal said no they don't produce stones...I think your better off trying to fruit the older jars than leaving them for stone production.

Roger that. Thanks! I'll spawn to shoeboxes today, when I break them up I'll post pics if I find something cool. If not you'll see me back here when I have tamps or Mexicana.

You left it long enough that it’s pinning. That’s what’s growing not stones.

C10 are those smaller than 6qt shoeboxes?
If I do one to one I think my sub would be like half that thickness.

6qt shoeboxes, just measured 2 of them and they were 2" and 2.25" deep (counting casing)
